It honestly took me a while to appreciate Awkwafina, but she really has been kicking ass and I'm sincerely a fan now.

I finished watching The Farewell at 3 in the morning and I was dying to call my maternal grandmother, my only living grandparent. The movie was that much moving. The performances were so heartfelt and raw, particularly Awkwafina and the actress who plays the grannny. Awkwafina must be nominated for an Oscar.

I feel like she definitely has depression. Not to expose her or anything but I think she’s really sincere and genuine and it’s beautiful even though there’s a sadness in her. A lot of people known for comedy (mainly) put on an act and she truly isn’t - and it’s really refreshing. Especially when she does seem to be a lil sad.

I'm scared to see The Farewell because it hits close to home. Nevertheless, I'll watch it, on my own, with ice cream, in my bed, alone. It's never easy to lose a family member, especially the lovely ones.

Honestly what’s making money is MARVEL STUDIOS no, ifs, ands, or buts. Not women in movies black people in movies. It’s MARVEL! If the poi’s it were true Spider-Man Far From home would have made one billion dollars like Panther and Cap. Marvel did. I do think as much as these women don’t want diversity to be a trend the reality is studios are all way going to inherently see things like diversity as trends. That’s how the entertainment industry has always worked. What I hope becomes the norm is more executives looking at things based on merit and not by some political or SJW standard and just embrace new talented people behind and in front the camera. Weather that is, gay, strait, white, black, brown, Asian, man, woman every new filmmaker, even the white men, have a unique and diverse voice because everyone has had different experiences that have influenced their art. Rant over.
