Thank you for answering my questions! Happy to hear Celia finished her GED so she can complete the official homeschool curriculum. ❤ Josh, who cares how far you got, you’ll be providing knowledge that can’t be learned in a traditional school environment. My dad dropped out of high school to go to Hollywood with Max Baer Jr (The Beverly Hillbillies). And he was a magnificent mechanic and I learned a tremendous amount from him.
Oh wow! That's not something you hear everyday! I dropped out shortly after daddy passed. And I've had people mention that it would be useful to share as to show how low the bar really is on this kind of living.
Your formal education may have ended at 9th grade, but it is obvious to me (college graduate) that your learning has excelled… most Americans would not know how or have the vision to do what you are doing. Impress yourself and don’t worry about anyone else.
The idea at least as I see it, is to try and learn something everyday. I believe as time goes on we're supposed to grow and not remain the same. But there's still avenues of education I'm pitiful with LOL particularly spelling and grammar. But most of what you need can be learned from books and that's what we do.
My god your the first honest person to speak out about school I totally agree with everything you said and exactly we’re supposed to care about our children and teach them good lessons. Good for Celia for getting that degree because there’s to many ways to get into trouble for not sending your children to school, actually that’s here in australia I don’t know how america treats parents but I’m guessing it’s the same.
Our area is very LAX on homeschooling, which some people love and some people hate I personally approve of it. But I can see the other side of the argument that some parents May not do their children Justice.. but it's their kids who am I to say yay or nay.
@@SteepintheWoods Yes you right about that but you got to have honest people running the protection system to.. anyway Im glad your doing good. I see something on a Chinese video about roads and they were putting cloth on the road to make it a mass instead of loose dirt, but it did make it more secure. Anyway thanks for replying God bless yous🫶🏻🕊️
I'm not sure I know very much.. but living off-grid gives us the opportunity to think about things most people don't. And speaking of the way things are going, we are getting ready to launch a new product on the website, DIY spring kits! I would certainly encourage anyone who can to install one of these even as just a backup.
School does not measure intelligence! If anything it trains people to be good little slaves to the system.. I can honestly say you are far more intelligent than MANY of the people i graduated with. A stupid man is someone who cannot provide or protect his family..you can clearly succeed in both! I enjoy your familys content and always look forward to new videos!
I appreciate you saying that. I would hope we all do the best with what we have but I'm not sure I've seen that in practice out in the world as much as I would have expected.. I will admit on a side note, half the excitement of homeschooling is the opportunity to be involved and therefore complete my own education along with the kids!
I've certainly got a lot of books! Haha But yes you're right it's all book learning, cross referencing 4 or 5 different herbology books is key because no one can contain every aspect of any one plant. I have a couple that are my favorites and that might be worth sharing if other people were interested.
I think ginseng is a great idea for you two since you both have green thumbs and the right environment for it to grow. It's a slow return on investment but boy when that investment starts repaying you you will reap big rewards.
I would agree! However for myself part of that agreement is to help right the wrongs done by average people in the way of removing these from the environment. Someone's got to help out the supply by propagation! And we just so happen to have 26 acres of the perfect environment. There are others as well such as goldenseal which are incredibly useful (valuable) and extensively hunted that could be propagated here as well!
We don't have a real one yet, this first spring we used a cold frame. And those work! But the overall goal is to design a greenhouse into our home.. similar to the sunroom on our last mountain except a little bigger and sunnier.
Haha IWe don't break any laws unless you count speeding I guess... And I will tell you the thing we see most up here other than nature is helicopters looking for just that thing!
