AWS Essentials: Route Tables (RTs)

What is the purpose of "subnet association" feature? I see on the video that your routing table has association with "zero" subnets.

Tysm mate. Could you delete the main route table if the IGW had a Black Hole status? Would that still show active dependencies?

How can I find the specific default gateway of the subnet ?

Why doesn't AWS give you the option to blackhole traffic? It seems like it would be kind of important. You could set up an OoB rule to the blackholed IGW.

Why does the route table in use say it's associated with "0 subnets"?

A SysOps Administrator is troubleshooting Amazon EC2 connectivity issues to the internet. The EC2 instance is in a private subnet. Below is the route table that is applied to the subnet of the EC2 instance. Destination "" 10.2.0.0/16 - Target "" local - Status "" Active - Propagated "" No - Destination "" 0.0.0.0/0 - Target "" nat-xxxxxxx - Status "" Blackhole - Propagated "" No - What has caused the connectivity issue? A. The NAT gateway no longer exists • B. There is no route to the internet gateway. • C. The routes are no longer propagating. Can someone help me with this answer? TY

This video is less about route tables than it is about an arbitrary fact pertaining to an IGW's association to route tables. Why not cover how the rules are formatted? What is a Target and what is a Destination? A route table routes network traffic to resources in your VPC, but how do you set that up? A user will have no concept of how to actually route traffic in their VPC from this video

Bad explanation. Route tables should be explained with reference to routing IP packets. People are paying for this crap ?
