As a DBA working soley in AWS, this was super helpful in understanding how all the different pieces work. Thanks especially for going over the basics of CIDR!
Networking is a crucial topic for any Cloud or DevOps professionals yet it is often overlooked. Just trying to fill that void and giving it the attention it deserves. Thank you for the feedback
The way you show the calculation of CIDR range is really wonderful and your explanation of other items is very much straight forward and simple to understand and I will recommend this video to my friends definitely. 🙂🙂 thanks for the video, Can you please come up with some AWS real time projects on CICD with Code pipeline and AWS Projects with EKS like that ??
You're welcome, I'm glad that you found it helpful. Nat Gateway is what we use as we have to take care of all the operational tasks if we use Nat instance, making sure it's highly available and fault tolerant, keeping the image updated and all the administrative tasks so, using a managed service such as Nat Gatewayis preferable
Hi Shailesh, This video will cover the basic building blocks of AWS networking however, advance networking topics such as VPC peering, hybrid network, VPN etc will be part of separate videos. For VPC peering I have already published a video, please check that out.For rest of the topics, I am gonna publish the videos soon.
Hi, It will be hard to troubleshoot the issue without knowing the full implementation. Some times there are issues with the particular images as well. You can join our Discord community and share the steps you have performed, someone will help you out.
Piyush, Awesome video ! 2 small follow up questions : Question 1: You created two instances one for the web and the other one for db. May i know why you enabled checkbox "Auto Assign Public IP" against db server at this spot ? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yUhzvVrwkV8.html I believe the db doesn't need to get the public ip address. Did you do it because you would like to have the DB server been able to connect to NAT Gateway to pull patches from the internet? My understanding is that the db server could have left alone without public ip address and you did it by accident. Please clarify ! Question 2: In the start of the video, you mentioned about the networking series and this video is probably part 1 of that. Could you please point me to the other one parts in networking series which was basically continuation of this video? I couldn't find it on your channel.
Hello and thank you for the feedback! For question 1: You are correct, there was absolutely no need to assign public IP to your DB instance, that was a mistake from my end , thank you for pointing it out! For question 2, please find below the part 2 of networking in which I focused on AWS VPC peering ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UDG2KCQ7eZg.html I did not create a lot of videos in networking as people did not show much interest in the beginning and requested a few other topics on which I published my later videos. But I do have videos created for Azure and GCP Networking in the similar way I did for AWS.
@@TechTutorialswithPiyush thanks Piyush for responding to my comment, appreciate it! Would love to see more videos on AWS networking space especially given the fact that networking is the core of cloud ! Keep doing awesome work !
