AWS Lambda is improving how functions scale. With scaling rate improvements, each synchronously invoked Lambda function can now independently scale up to 12x faster (1,000 concurrent executions every 10 seconds) in response to sudden, large, and unpredictable increases in traffic until the account’s concurrency limit is reached - all without extra costs or manual configuration. All functions within an account now scale independently, meaning that functions can scale without affecting the scaling rate of any other functions within your account. These scaling improvements benefit workloads that require both high responsiveness and scalability, such as SLA-driven data processing and web applications. Lambda is also improving scaling up when processing messages from SQS and Kafka event sources, allowing you to process messages more quickly.
