the problem is that when the military takes over they rather make things worse (that is per the military regimes we've had except perhaps acheampong and the later stages of Rawlings regime). The question is, with the way politicians have "bought" themselves thru the military is there a sane military without political affiliation in Ghana?

Man don't be surprised. It had always been like that, scholarship secretariat gives scholarship to the children of well-to-do parents. Cocoa marketing board scholarship was not given to the children of Cocoa farmers (even in the 60s) during the time of Appia-Danquah. Do you young men believe that majority of the well-to-do educated men are in favor of FSHS?
