AXCC/IATVHSS Greenhurst Farm ATV XC woods race in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. 108° heat index. 4 laps in 2hrs 5mins. Just barely missed the podium. Solid run! Finished 4th/8 in 30+ and 58th/153 Overall, unofficially. For some reason our class started like 12th row, 120 racers deep. Lots of bottlenecks but track was awesome. Finally got to cross the infamous creek too. Greenhurst " Off-Road" Farm in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Ran the 30+ Class on the 2012 Yamaha YFZ-450 that I'm building. Lots of bottlenecks but it was a really fun track, always is at that property. Wait til the end for the "grand finale" of Brandon flipping up a tree hahaha. I let him borrow the loaner quad so he could make this race and salvage his points lead (his quad broke a couple days ago and we didn't have time to fix it). Live action!!! I remember first time I went racing on my raptor 350 with a big bore. Forgot gloves and didn't have hand guards. All I had was boots and a helmet. Had to get a set of pants that I sold to a friend after the race😂😂 was all well and fun but christ I couldn't keep up. Then I got an 05 yfz450 with a big bore and got it all kitted out with multiple protectors and guards. And an oversized tank. Had full gear with a chest protector and camel back

What classes can I race at 13 I race motocross on an atv and want to get into harescrambles and which atvs for each class

You can race junior class at 13 I think it’s 200-300 sized motors then when you’re 15 or 16 you can move up to young C which is 450 and up I think

Why do riders do that when they just stop to let someone pass and just continue right behind them? I'm genuinely curious, is there like some rule or is it just rider choice?

If they're faster that you, you let them pass. A lot of times, it's nice having a fast guy infront of you so you can match his lines

Especially if they're racing a different class. You're not racing them, you're racing guys on your class

great video sean. Which model gopro are you using? Any particular settings? Super smooth video

Thanks Justin. GoPro Hero 8 Black w/ Hypersmooth turned on. Lowest resolution and frame rate settings, so the battery lasts the longest - 1080p and 30 FPS. Then up-scaled in the video editing software to 4k (max data rate) to trick RU-vid into showing the full 1080 quality version instead of a compressed blurry version 👍

How do people know when to let you by them

150 total racers and only 8 in your class, so after the first lap, if you catch anyone, they should let you by and tuck in behind you without issue. Same if someone else catches you. It's faster to follow them instead of try to out run them. Takes a couple races to get the feel for it for the new racers. It's easy to wreck when you're getting over for someone if you don't do it in the right spot too !
