Axe FX 3 vs Kemper Friedman BE100 

I can’t afford either so it doesn’t matter.

Honestly thought the A was KPA and B was FxIII bc the effects processing seemed split channel delay and more air and FX excels at this, whereas the A sounded more mono. I think they could have been matched effects-wise better. I liked the sounds of B and was thinking “Maaaan, do I need to drop money on an AXE FXIII now?!” But if by only this video I’d have picked Kemper. Which I own. Played Fractals and to FXII and am impressed with them both. On other videos I like the fractal more. So I think it’s really “both can make great sounds for recording” and you can’t go wrong with either. The FXII is now at the KPA price tho. They will tell you the III is the bomb, and it is, for $1000 more used even, but you won’t regret a used KPA or FXII. And I’m a KPA fanboy. The III is amazing on videos and likely a tweakers dream. If you are a plug & play person, KPA for the win. If you love effect laden tones and tweaking amps a lot, FX hits that spot. Recorded? You can get them to sound quite similar. My friend has the FXII and we can tweak to each other easily. In 5m. So the Kemper is no slouch, despite less choices. Less choices is good for adhd ppl, haha

The Kemper is only as good as the profile running on it. I dont know anything about the Axe FX but it sounded better to my ears. But use different profiles and things would have been different.

Did you check NAM plugin?

It's funny but within 2 seconds I could tell the first one was the Fractal. Even though they've come such a long way, it clearly sounds like a modeler and not an amp. I can't really say exactly what it is exactly. It's just instantly recognizable. With the Kemper some tones are better than others but it definitely sounds closer to the real amp. As you pointed out though, in a mix the Fractal may still sound as there is less work to do to integrate what is a more raw sound from the Kemper.

easily FRACTAL for the win. Much better tone overall IMHO.

Kemper is more bas juicy sound. FX III is som kind harsh dry plastic sound.
