YES!!! Everytime I go past Glamis I tell myself I need to get an RC for the sand, sounds like a perfect project for my AX10!!! Great Video!!!! (Greatscott/RCC)
thats sick. my friends rc truck isnt a crawler more like a hobby so he made it as fast as he could. he put some paddles on it and races it in the drags. dead serious. have to take videos of it next time. its so funny watching this little rc truck race full size buggys.
Very cool. Glad to see I'm not the only one to put some power and paddles on a crawler and sling some sand lol. I like the jeep body. Looks like a Icelandic formula offroad truck.
It's got the VXL in it, but we never regeared it from it's crawler days, we thought this would just be an experiment. Turned out it was, that thing is back to a comp crawler and killing the sportsman class! It's a little slow, but you have to admit it's got great torque!
@dragonbreath722 Don't need to get an ATV when I've had a quad since I was a kid, OK technically I started on a 3 wheeler when I was 3, but grew into the quads :) RC cars are just another fun thing to offroad besides 1:1s and quads. Thanks for watching!
@tytogononttt No, it's Axial's AX10. I have an SCX10, but it hasn't hit the dunes yet. As soon as desert season rolls around we'll take it out there :)
The song: Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin. And I don't know if the ex-crawler will have enough wheel speed for water skipping, maybe I'll try with a Slash.
@KRAZYRCDUDE Because we changed the gearing and added a Brushless system to it :) We upgraded to better crawlers, so that's just what we did with the old one!
@dewhwut The rig will probably cost you around $300, the brushless motor and esc combo, about another $150, depending on what you get. Axial Racing has come out with some new platform vehicles since this video was done. Check out their website and RCCrawler (forums) to see what's out there for RCs.They're fun and cheaper to fix than a 1:1 :)
@KRAZYRCDUDE If you have a Local Hobby Shop, check there. Look for Panther paddles, that's what I'm running here. They are cheap and work well. Just buy some cheap plastic rims and glue em on :) Otherwise, look for the Panthers online.
@99jasem Yeah, I don't see why not. Check out the Video Response by xjonny26, he has a wheely King. He'll probably be much better at answering this question :)
Since you can't post links in replies, I had to get creative. Go to RCCrawler Com Forum Showthread (dot) php?t=203353 Very soon there will be a new one of these built. We turned this one back into a comp crawler. I'll have a build thread for the Sand Frog within the next month or two.
