so i made a bold move and gave the Ryft differentials the rc version of a Lincoln locker....I filled the cases with Devcon Steel putty. they're locked solid now \m/ Thanks for watching
I was able to get the Axial lockers, put one in the R and one in the C diffs. rebuilt my front, and added some 2.5m fuid. Going to order a Vitavon diff cup or 2. That will help, but I think there needs to be a redesign on the diff setup itself. And hardened steel gears. The stock diff case would be ok if the drive cups were not able to be pushed laterally into the shim/oring. the oring can't support the force and compresses under the load, which is why they deform. with 2.5m I suspect this front won't make it too long. I have a 3rd locker that will be here tomorrow or tuesday.
Haha thanks bro! Ya I love this spot. There’s a pile of Terrain to explore here. The first time the truck used a full battery let alone two batteries haha. I love it now. The axle housings have taken some pretty knarly smashes and crashes. And I can’t go over 1/2 throttle on pavement lmao
@@GuyonaMoose thanks! I am thinking about getting a Ryft, too, and modding it similar to your‘s, for off-road bashing and trails. Sensored, sway bar, maybe different axles. :)
Hey have you ever messed with center diff like I'm sure you have it locked so what if you unlocked the center for hill climbing when the front tires pick up it would send more power to front bc rear would have more traction. Might be magic idk I'm building my ryft kit now. I have all 3 lockers to lock it up but I may play around with center diff maybe even ear plugs in it so it's super tight but can still spin more power to front keeping the front down and tighter to hill
Hey thanks man for the comments!! I think differentials would work well in certain situations/driving style! Ya locked the Center with the supplied locker right away. For me I think a diff in the rear would work well… idk though they’re not strong enough nor smooth at all to justify using them…
@@GuyonaMoose ya those silly little monkey metal gears ⚙️ in side the diff cup I bought hd steel beveled gears thought that was making the noise hahah forget it I'm done locking it all up lol
