If you want slower control, turn on the Rx, hold channel 4 button, turn wheel counter clockwise and turn on the Tx. It's called beginner mode. Repeat again to put into advanced mode.
@BlackSmith RC I'm enjoying this little thing too. I know Horizon Hobby updated the ESC in the SWB too. So the modulation should be the same. Only issue is making sure you are getting new stock from the LHS.
@The_Car_Guy Actually if you want to keep the bumper and the lights, just flip the bumper around. Improves the approach angle by a lot and still keep the looks.
Great video Neal! Very informative. Glad to see I didn’t miss out on much with the 1st version! I’m very happy with mine! I’m liking your mini course. I’ve been thinking about making something myself! 🤔😊✌️👍
@The Jeepin’ Realtor I'm aching not to remove the tent. I added some weight down low and took if for a quick test, much better. Got to put it on the course and see how much improvement though.
I have one of these just got it 3 days ago and I'm telling y'all it's a game changer for me. Love the very smooth slow crawl I will be adding copper hubs and axel covers and also will be putting a winch on it as well LEDs on the rear for reverse lighting. Out of the box it's a winner for me 8 out of 10. Also maybe a better motor brushless maybe 🤔 I'll do my research first for sure.
@chrisholden9777 I felt the same way especially after owning the Gen 1's since the beginning. I'm still rocking the stock system. Got some brass in the right areas and next up, I found some inner fenders and rock lights I'm going to install. That's been on the todo list for a bit😊
Also I did put BB's in each shock holes. That also added a little weight as well. If you look at the bottom of the shock there is a hole there nothing else I could find fit in there so I tried BB's and it worked perfectly. Brass BB's to. Just thought 🤔 I'd throw that out there
Totally disagree about the gladiators transmitter. In my opinion it’s the best yet and that seems to be the feedback from others I know who own both. Great video though👍🏻
@chris gorman Thanks man! IDK I like the knobs for setting D/R and steering better plus the steering is in a better position for one handed driving on the old controller. I guess with the better modulation you don't need a L/M/H switch but I was so used to it. Maybe I'll grow to like it more.
Gamechanger is exactly what I thought after just a few minutes of driving. I agree about the transmitter though. Feels cheap. I got over it quick though 😂
Got some $ for my birthday migjt have to get one.. I didn't even know about the gladiator till now.. I got a pretty modified swb jeep.. I was actually showing someone it last night.. only thing that's stock is the driveshafts and esc/motor 🤣 🤣 🤣
@L Y Bad marketing😆 My guess the person that did the write up didn't actually look at the product. Not even the first system was 2 channel so it's not like they took the wording from the old write up.
You can put the new ones into "beginner" mode which make them slower and more controlled. Turn on the truck, the while holding the channel 4 button and counterclockwise on the wheel, turn on the remote. Repeated to put back into "advanced" mode.
@CheeseScout I agree, needs a little weight down low. I posted a brass video adding brass turnbuckles but I previously added new wheels with brass rings.
@@ReadySetRC I was pretty happy with the CK, but I think the additional details made this Gladiator too heavy on the top. It isn't necessary to add the brass differential cover on the CK but more necessary on this one
@Furyss1 TV I flipped the bumper and looks a lot better also should help the approach angle. I also raised the body mount a couple notches and it was able to latch on the velcro. I would say I could shave the front grill a tad but I'm trying to resist😊
@willeymunda It all depends, are you driving this for fun or a comp? For me I don't comp, I like driving around on my course or taking it out in the backyard so the longer wheelbase is not an issue. But if you prefer the SWB Jeep, just make sure it is the one with the updated esc. The slow control is night and day.
