This song means so much to me, dedicated to me on the day I was born. My parents would sing this when I was just a little girl. Now I have my own little ray of sunshine 💗
I have no kids, probably won’t but this one hits me. Get to be sentimental sometimes…when all your peers have kids grown up or growing up…but it’s all good..we are all in the one family…sort of.. I hope.
Well, my eldest is a girl, with red hair and as I drove home from the hospital after she was born. I turned on the radio and this song came on. Must be cosmic about this song. 🇦🇺💯
Last night I had the pleasure to see Glenn Shorrock and Brian Cadd in concert in Brisbane. Glenn is 77 and Brian 76. What performers! When they played this great song bought tears to my eyes as this is what I played on the way home from the hospital after my daugther was born in 1994. I had it on a CD and kept hitting the repeat. It was a 240 km trip from the hospital to home.
My daddy said that this was his song for me. I was born in 1970. His in heaven now so I play this Sunday night's at 6.15pm in honor of his passing. Love you all the world dad xx
brian cadd song writer ..glen singer good combo My little girl was born in the US, but I'm an Aussie, and this is her song. Great aussie rockers. Great times great music.
my dad and I dedicated this song to my gorgeous baby girl who was taken away from at 15months old. I love hearing this song as she was our little ray of sunshine
Greg Anderson sorry for your loss. I lost a baby daughter at 16 months of age, she was born with a rare disorder, Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome [SDS], or Shwachman Syndrome [SS]
When our girl was born in 1971, this became the song for her. Sadly, 5 weeks ago we had it play during the committal of her body. It's no longer a happy song for us, rather a reflective song. Thank you Brian Cadd & Don Mudie for putting this song together.
I love this song...This song was playing on the car radio whilst my daughter was being born in the ambulance on the main Highway 18 years ago. Her father was listening to it just before he pulled up behind the ambulance. They opened up the door and congratulated him on the birth of his daughter and told him to meet us at the hospital. So, this is Chelsea's song! Cathi. :)
I made my own little movie when my daughter was born 2 years ago with this song, brings tears to my eyes every time! What a great classic, absolutely brilliant.
we dedicated this song to our daughter 29 yrs ago, being blonde and blue eyed etc, etc perfect for her and now she has her own daughter not a week old, we have posted this song on facebook for her, with tears of pride and a full heart thanks you brian and all of axiom i was 10 when this song was released and i loved it then, still love it now!!
After 18 hrs at the hospital waiting for my daughter to be born my little Ray of Sunshine came into the world 9.03 pm 24/6/1995. About 11 pm my Mother in Law sent me home in a cab and a few songs in on the cab ride home this song came on the radio. Will never forget that moment!
This is the first song I heard on my way home from the birth of my little girl in 89" so fitting.she was so so tiny, but we took her home she is now grown to a lovely woman with girls of her own..Makes me cry ,,.but happy at same time.
My dad, on the day of my birth, requested this song on the major radio station. He said he wanted to state to everyone that 'his' little ray of sunshine has entered his life. I will always keep this song close in my heart.
An amazing coincidence in time & place, which I just stumbled over ! This Channel 9 Adelaide clip was filmed in the courtyard outside the old church, which in more recent years was the NWS9 canteen. Right at the end of the clip, you'll see host & my old 5KA colleague Vince Lovegrove of 'The Valentines' back announce Axiom. By the way, up until July 2010 our Adelaide radio sales team was temporarily working in 'the old church', during renovations at MIX & Cruise ! Regards, IAN in Victor Harbor
I'm so glad to have lived through that period of wonderful Australian bands and the music they produced. So angry the rest of the world ignored us. Australia produced every bit as good as England or America did. Those days are gone now, music today is just noise.
I remember first hearing this gem of a song on GTK on the ABC just before Bellbird. It must have been in 1970. A great song and Glen Shorrock and Brian Cadd terrific singers. What wonderful memories and I can't believe it was 39m years ago. Thank you for the clip Expatmartin
The best moments of my life was holding my baby girl after she was born.A little ray of sunshine had come in to this world and has given her parents so much happiness.
this is the song my mum played when she brought me home from the hospital and it is also the song my mum played when i bought my baby girl home from the hospital.
This came on the radio the day, my daughter Tahlee was born back in 1995. I was in a cab on the way home from the hospital after 18 hours with my wife and got sent home by my Mother in law. Strange how those things happen.
Love this song. It makes me think of my sister and my family when she was born in 1972, in Adelaide. Dedicate this to all the little girls past and future. X
G'Day,I was at the Theatre when Axiom first Sang This🤯,I was 20 at the time ,I remember if it was Oxford Street Paddington, they also sang" Laying on Arkansas Grass", wow what a Flashback this is!
My wife and I love this song which reminds us of our daughter who will be getting married in 2023 on our 35th Wedding Anniversary which we intend to have it choreographed to dance to on the night.....
What a beautiful song! I was only 3 when this song came out but I always think of my daughter (don't we all!) who is now nearly 19. An awesome young woman but perennially my baby girl! Love you Sarina! :)
This song was released the same week my daughter was born.... Couldn't keep my shit together when I heard it then, and nearly 50 years down the track, still can't.... :)
This song came on when driving home from the hospital when my daughter was born. I hadn't heard it for at least 10 years before that moment. The universe is a strange wonderful place.
'Little Ray of Sunshine' is ultra special in our family. Our mother sang along with baby Katie on her hip. Days before Katie turned one, our pregnant mother suicided, leaving us ten kids behind. We can't listen to 'Little Ray of Sunshine' without thinking about our mother and what might have been. Some melodies freeze frame time.
So sad for you all. I try to Imagine looking after 10 children and the worry that could be, amongst the tiredness she must have had 😥 God be with you all & your mum 🕊
Ouch, that's hard. So sorry for you and your Siblings. I have 3 of my own +2B's and was talking to my Mum just yesterday. My heart goes out to all that loose their Mother's before their time..
Great aussie rockers. Great times great music. brian cadd song writer ..glen singer good combo My little girl was born in the US, but I'm an Aussie, and this is her song.

I wanted to buy thi song for son when his daugther was born his first girl. its a beautiful song To my dear Kathleen, my Little Ray of Sunshine. Love and Kisses forever, Mum.
@0591579 Glenn Shorrock was lead singer for both bands and Brian Cadd produced a lot of Aussie bands in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Often the boys would play together at the Roxy or Golden Gate pubs in South Melbourne. On these nights it was hard to know who was from where or when but regardless they were brilliant. Geoff Cox usually managed to be there for these occasions sprouting how he was Little river bands drummer. Truth the drummer broke an arm so coxy filled in to complete a tour.
