I'll buy one of these when available in my part of western Australia in the goldfields region. I use my trusted and faithful GPX 4500 stock standard ( built in Australia in Adelaide at the Minelab factory - my machine was built in 2007 before manufacturing was relocated to China or Taiwan factory assembly plants. I'm going to upgrade but still keep my 4500 , I just want to do comparison between the 2 machines with same size coils and with mono and DD coils on a target pad I've got out in my area of pre buried targets at certain depths and size of targets. I use lead sinkers and weights as lead gives same tone as gold. Either way it'll be good to own one of these new machines to see how it runs against the 4500 on sensitivity and depth.

hey Rick have you used 6000 there before? I am thinking of either 6000 or Axiom//

@@user-bd5ni8vr5c yes I've used the GPX 6000 very nice machine , very sensitive as well. That'll be my next purchase after the Axiom as there's areas here in WA which the 6000 would go very well.

Excellent, nice videos and very informative, I think Garrett is on a winner with the Axiom.

Hi Steve I have the gpx6000 I'm using for gold , but live in a very trashy area with rusty iron tacks etc and the all the extra digging is killing me ,I'm wondering if the axiom would suit my conditions better ,with dd coil and iron discrimination, is the coil on par with the mono ,cheers from Australia
@RedbackAviation
@RedbackAviation 9 месяцев назад
Can I ask which coil you were using there? Was it the DD or Mono? AS here in Victoria, Australia - my DD was lucky to get a shotgun pellet within 2 inches of the surface. The way I am seeing some other Axioms working it often makes me wonder if mine is faulty? I have found targets with the larger DD, but have zero confidence in it's ability over the smaller 7x11 mono. I run pretty much the same settings as you with the exception of switching between slow and medium depending on the ground. I also find maximum sensitivity likes hot rocks.

Nope, go faster than you would think can work and 4" above the ground. The new detectors are sensitive enough to handle it.

Hi I wonder how Axiom works in west AU with very high mineralization?
@rickseifert5139
@rickseifert5139 Год назад
I'll find out in the next 3 days as I love in western Australia in the goldfields and very familiar with the hot ground we have here and heavy mineralisation. I got my Axiom this morning arrived from supplier so next few days is resting time at night as it's almost 40⁰ C during the day here now in summer.

Hello! We have successfully tested the Axiom across Australia and Africa in highly mineralized soil! It is built to perform in the harshest soil conditions. We don't think you'll be disappointed if you take the time to learn the machine!

Coin and relic hunting is totally different than gold nugget detecting. And a pinpointer messes with the PI detector.
@MoreEffinCowbell
@MoreEffinCowbell 2 года назад
@@robmart5920 Messes with it? I dunno... I think it'd be easier to figure out how to utilize a pin pointer somehow, without it messing with the detector (ie, setting it down a few feet away or maybe switching it off for a minute, etc.) than it would be to just not use a pinpointer at all and have to keep dragging the detector across the rocks repeatedly like that... 😬 But hey, that's just me. I will admit, I've never gone gold hunting specifically, so I might be completely wrong in my assumption. But, when you have a good idea of where the potential nugget is, within a few inches in front of you, and it might just be a piece of trash at the same time... Isn't that what pinpointers are made for??
