game isn't actually that much like metroid, just shares some of the aesthetics. maybe a little like metroid 1 or 2, but if you liked metroid 3, you wont necessarily like this game
Lol this whole game is made by one person in his spare time and it's still a better Metroid game than Farce with hundreds of employers and endless budget.
I'm so happy I picked this game up years ago. I thought it over for like a full week before giving in and it was incredible. I'm excited to find out what happens in the sequel!
Been waiting on this one for a while. This will definitely fill that Metroid void. No celebration of 30 years of Metroid from Nintendo so this is the best we'll get. Don't even bring up Federation Force.
Federation force wasn't that bad the only reason it's bad is from bad timing and because multiplayer is the best way to play it and Single player makes it harder
Metroid fans should be grateful. Be happy you got a spinoff game along with the fact of a main series game to come some time in the near future. Also this amazing indie game to quench that thirst for a 2d style Metroid game. Not to mention AM2R. F-Zero fans only have Fast Racing Neo with no knowledge of a new F-Zero game in sight. :/
"Be happy you got a spinoff game" I would with an actual Metroid. Now I wouldn't claim Federation Force is a bad game but it is like salt in the wound nonetheless. "the fact of a main series game to come some time in the near future" I mean: is there? If they had announced it right before showing Federation Force it wouldn't have gotten this kind of backlash. "Also this amazing indie game to quench that thirst for a 2d style Metroid game." Yep. No thanks to Nintendo. "Not to mention AM2R." Which is great. But Nintendo took it down. It _IS_ worse for F-Zero fans. It's painful to see a second Nintendo series for the more hardcore gamers basically ignored.
Te difference between Metroid and Fzero is that Metroid gets hella high ratings with each title. Super Metroid and Metroid Prime are some of the highest ranking games ever made... Can't say the same for Fzero, but it sucks to see both ignored.
Dude if you're gonna claim there's a main series game coming soon, you better be able to back it up. It's been 14 years and people are a little testy about it
moistsqueegee 95 it's actually been 9.5, almost 10 years... but FF (the garbage it is) does tease the same ending as Prime 3. And the series producer mentioned something vague about Nx... but I agree with you.
I meant the 2D games as main series. Prime is good, but Super, Fusion, and Castlevania Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow will always have a special place in my heart. You wouldn't believe how angry I was when I found out they cancelled Metroid: Dread in '05
That last wall you're going down is also a hidden area with a helpful tool hidden away in it. 🙂 The part I'm stuck on is a little ways past that so the video didn't help much with what I needed to know bit it was a great intro for people interested in trying it but want to know more about it first 👍
Kind of hilarious that the next great Metroid game came from an small indie team not even associated with Nintendo. Guess we'll take what we can get at this point
AM2R: A new fan made game that is similar to Metroid games, has Samus as the main playable character and includes power ups Samus used in previous official Metroid games. Nintendo shuts it down. Axiom Verge: A new fan made game that is similar to Metroid games, but doesn't have Samus in it, or any of her power ups, instead having an original main playable character with his own power ups. Nintendo gives it space in it's online downloadable game store, the Nintendo E-Shop. Huh, I wonder what the difference could possibly be? (I know what the difference is.)
i love how the tips and tricks are think before you act, dodge enemy projectiles and use your glitch gun on everything because that is what it is there for.
Hello, I have been a fan of the Mario series since I have ever touched a gaming system, and one of the best games were Super Mario Sunshine! I was wondering if it would be possible to have a Super Mario Sunshine remake or port on the 3ds? Also, many kids born in this generation probably never got the chance to play Super Mario Sunshine! I think kids today and everyone else would love Super Mario Sunshine on 3ds. Is it possible?
+ActiveGamerLife hahaha but the animations of the character are similar to the contra series , for instance when he runs and jump. Anyway, dont take it too serious Xd
Nintendo allowed an awesome omage to Metroid to be on their console *before actually making an ACTUAL Metroid game of their own*? SMH come on, Nintendo.
Diego Samuel No, this is awesome, but this year is literally Metroid's 30th Anniversary, but it is getting absolutely no love! Look at how they treated The Legend of Zelda's 25th Anniversary: concerts, books, games, the whole kit and kaboodle. We don't need to talk about how Pokemon's 20th anniversary is being treated now (perfectly). So what gives with Metroid? Metroid arguably gave birth to the action-space genre, preceding the now-famous series Halo, Mass Effect, Dead Space, and literally every video game of that genre and theme since. Metroid also had the first female protagonist in video games ever! So again I must humbly ask Nintendo *why are they ignoring Metroid*? One can even argue Federation Force to be a tribute, but let's not go there. Basically it really feels that Nintendo has abandoned Metroid to the point where third parties have to make spiritual successors just to save their amazing yet dying series.
Harman Smith Apparently so. I just wish Nintendo would pay more attention to their amazing selection of great game titles, you know? Nintendo has great games outside of Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Pokemon, and many of these other game franchises can be just as relevant if only more attention was given towards them. Also, Metroid is Nintendo's most mature series, and if I think that this franchise could be a great way for them to compete against Microsoft and Sony who are best known for their intense and remarkable mature games. So yeah I know that Metroid isn't as big of a deal to a ton of people, but that does not mean that their games are no less amazing and worthy of attention. But of course, this is all my personal opinion.
where is the correct place to make complaints about nintendo games like splatoon. the game has had 11 updates since launch where are they viewing the complaints to then update the game??
This was a great game especially over a year ago when it came out on PS4. I'm surprised Nintendo let it come out on there systems as controlling as they are
