This video still works and helped me alot. I always struggled as round 1 Germany feels so powerful with so many options for attacking, but then end up loosing all your momentum after the first round. I was worried about the impending US fleet coming to invade, but once Moscow is taken, Stalingrad is very undefended and its easy to take India from there. Then you win the standard victory in 5 rounds or so

Some criticisms: 1) You leave Western Europe undefended. Yes Britain will lose a tank but gain 6, so its even for them. And you divert attention and lose 6 + whatever dies in retaking it 2) You can take West Russia next turn, but then Russia will just attack it with everything, retreat once all your infantry and then some are dead, and regroup in Russia to totally destroy you next turn. And you won't have more infantry coming 3) You failed to take Africa decisively. This means you will have a limited IPC base throughout the game. Yes UK will divert some attention away from India to contain you, but it will be effective in keeping those IPCs and likely destroy your Africa transporter in turn 3. Love the videos though, thank you and keep it up!

It would be good to have an updated version for ranked games. Most of the time in those you will have the Russians already in Ukraine, one less fighter and no bomber

Just a slight change to TJ attack -- most people today put an A+I instead of T+I. There is only a 4% difference in success (aatoolkit), but you can keep the T in Europe where you're massing your Russian assault. Also if your B survives in UKR (rare nowadays, it gives Germ too many options), instead of Strat Bomb Moscow you could add into TJ attack to give nearly 100% chance of taking it (esp if you take B instead of a ground unit if the GU is the last left -- it's on borrowed time anyway :))

This is by far the most efficient way to take Russia. I did this yesterday and had Russia super early. Then I was able divert everything back west.

Oh interesting,. I tend to be highly aggressive against Egypt on G1 as that 1 spitfire can be a tide-changer for the Pacific battle between Britain and Japan. I've also recently been debating if it's better to attack the US transports and destro with those 2 subs, or the British transport and destroyer off the coast of Canada. I can't make up my mind on which one is more beneficial, as I try to secure the Atlantic early on as Germany. I live this game so much, there are 50 million different things you can mix and match to try and gain an advantage.

Yh thats true, theres no 1 best way to go about getting a win. So many different possibilites. I really enjoy this side of the game, figuring out new strategies and seeing what works well and what doesnt. Also good point about that Spitfire in Egypt, the success of that naval attack really does depend on it.

Have you tried all tanks with one bomber? I sometimes do this and by move 4 or so when America is trying to link with GB on France, they are awfully handy to have to crush their fleets with bombers and fighters - If they happen to land, they are easily dispatched as well with these bombers while also peppering Russia while you wait. - Any thoughts?

I don't dislike this, but in my experience that opening results in an axis loss in either sz 7, or 11, like clockwork. Especially sz 11.

I've tried sending both subs after the American transports, but I lose sz7 soooooooo many times. Sucks leaving the battleship for Britian.

Random question Manix, I only just today started looking for ranked matches to start gaining ranks, as I always played custom games before. Does it always take 10+ minutes to find a ranked match? I've been sitting here for ages, and I would assume you know as you're into platinum already

It can do, I find the majority of the time I find a match in under 5 mins. The nice thing is that you can start matchmatching and leave the game, so next time you come back on the match will be waiting for you.

3:45 You said that you can make AC and land fighters, but I don't think it can be done, as deployment phase is after the fighters land

The game will let you move the fighters into that seazone as it knows you have a carrier that can be placed there in the mobilization phase. Give it a try, works nicely. Means you can also use this trick elsewhere, useful to give your fighters extra places to land

@@manix429 Okay, thank you. Also what happens if your AC with planes gets attacked, and only AC get sunk, but fighters survive? Do they sink by default, or what happens?

@@trudny13 Was a good question, had to test it. So this can only happen I believe if the AC is attacked by Submarines only (as subs cant hit planes). If anything else attacks, the game by default will remove the defenders units 1 by 1 based on their IPC value. As the fighters are worth less IPC than an AC the game would remove them from the battle first. If you are attacked by subs and the AC is destroyed. The computer will just land the fighters automatically for you to I believe the nearest friendly territory. If there were no friendly territories in range you will lose the fighters too.
