Looks like the part of rural Aust I grew up in, where kids started out as cute kids singing in the choir etc but then turned wild as teens, boys hooning around, in trouble with the law, girls who's only ambition was to be pregnant by about 15 to the most sought after street hooligan with a car. Car was a desirable male sexual attribute to get girls, so guys would beg, borrow but more often steal cars to go on drugs and alcohol fueled 'joy rides'with chicks brave enough to get in and hold tight, which a gal had to overcome her fear of death to get the dude whose baby she wanted to have, asap, before other chicks bagged him. Most of us thought it was a prison, despite big open country spaces. There was just nothing f or youth. So, like me, many ran away to the city. Few returned or survived. They ended up dead from drugs OD, suicide, murdered or in jail. A few did return but as seriously addicted, broken down junkies, single mothers etc, boys doing time in jails for crime. But the local 'nice girls' still secretly dreamed of the handsome bad boys in rags, in trouble with authority. In such a conservative society, you weren't welcomed back by anybody other than your mother, if you were lucky and she only did it out of moral obligation, not maternal love. Beatings, child abuse etc were called 'raising kids right'. Rape and incest was strongly disapproved of in a basically strict Christian community but it still happened, often with the mother aware of what was going on but doing nothing to stop it. Mainly because it would result in major town scandal and loss of her own tenuous security, if she upset her husband, often the perpetrator. Though such men were also respectable pillars of society. As for rape, raping lityle girls went on and than outraged locals, but, if teenage girls were raped, it was seen as a twisted sort of complinent on her beauty, if he then took her as his girlfriend, had the baby etc.The dude learned paternal responsibility fast, typically at the end of a shotgun the pregnant girl's old man pointed at him to put a ring on it or you're dead meat, mate. Most such wild young dudes were keen to comply, be a man. They always want more babies in Aussie country areas, due to dwindling population. Otherwise it was presumed to be her fault and her decline into 'one of those types' ensued ie she became the 'town bicycle'. Society d oesn't change much in such places. Nobody is proud of your achievments. All they remember is that you ran away, were a wild child,broke all their rules. They may forgive but you are forever 'that bad kid', never the bad kid who went on to do well, achieve. I went back when my marriage ended.I was met with remarks li k e 'Oh, so you thought you were a real hot shot, went to the big smoke, real smart, went to that Unerversity place... Now you come came back down and out, no husband? What? No kids even? Oh, how sad... Wanna see my daughter you went to school with? Got beautiful kids,good husband makes good money, nice mansion on the hill... Your poor mum...She was a saint, with a daughter from hell... And your br other, too.... blah, blah...' I saw some fat ugly female waddle out with a horde of screaming kids in tow. I couldn't believe she was a pretty girl I once sat with in class at school. I couldn't wait to catch any transport out of there, though I really missed all the beauty of the forests and the sea, nature etc where I grew up playing and exploring as a kid.

so ugly how media was always against him, they always pushed a narrative but no one ever questioned what was happening in his household...with both dad being sickos & mom who was useless...no wonder he was angry & felt like everyone was against him...

That Current Affair spot made him look like he just took a stage name, but his birth father's surname was Rose. That is his true name. His adopted father apparently was mentally and physically abusive. I was adopted and feel a connection to my true lineage. The report didn't really try to understand what his life was like. I mean the police treating him as if he were a murderer, who constantly ran over puppies and punched nuns in the crotch for laughs! To be sure, he used to be volatile, but there are reasons.

Not the most flattering piece. I think a few instances have colored some people's opinions. I think we all grow and we all mellow and some of the things said are unfair to him today. Maybe people should look in the mirror and realize we are all flawed, give the guy a break and realize he's not 20 and wild anymore. He's a 61 year old man, trying to live his life and keep the thing that he loves going. Judge not, people, lest ye be judged. Axl deserves to be taken as the man he is now.
