This is a comprehensive video showing the process from start to finish on the installation of 12v air conditioning on an Axopar 28 with Aft Cabin. The electrical side will change a bit when we do the next install of 12v unit instead of 110v running off of inverter.
This installation was done on a vessel after delivery and shows the different elements that go into properly designing the installation of our units.

This is great - just warm air rises - so having air returns down low? As long as cold air is directed high - to cool the warm air up high - that is fine. It is more about creating air flow. Cold air directed up will fall so you are creating a mild turbulence or air 'wave' in the cabin - you want moving air or high volume exchange.

Not sure I understand: You state below this is a '120v system' but it still requires a substantial 12V system to work away from the dock. Why was this approach taken vs. the 12V 12,000 BTU system (with larger battery bank) you installed on the other Axopar 28? Why not avoid the inverter? Or is the 7,500 BTU unit only available in 120V?

This boat was one of the last vessels that we did with our 120v units running off of inverters and powered by AGM batteries. We didn't have the technology available at the time that this installation was done.
