I love how she is able to have her own persona and her puppet has it's own persona as well. Monkey can be a bit ronchy yet Nina is so sweet and innocent. I love how she does that! Granny is just funny! Most of all I love how she turns people in the audience into puppets. That is great!!
What amazes be about Nina is how she seems so genuine when she talks to her puppets. Especially when she embarrassingly laughs when they something something she (supposedly) wasn't expecting. I remember an old friend of mine who has since passed (Bob Mason,) when I commented on some new gags he was using said "sometimes I never know what Reggie (his dummy) is going to say." That being said, I guess maybe it's our alter ego?
Steven, What wonderful interview though it was to short. You two got on so well, would have loved to see the two of you both having a puppet in the conversation . Just saying!!!
She is so good! There's footage of her and monk riffing in the extras of the For Your Consideration dvd (probably on youtube). She's not just a good ventriloquist but has funny in her bones. Not many performers can be spontaneously funny like that. P.S. that old man looks like my old great uncle Fred. Uncanny!
this is the woman, she got me wanting to play wuth puppets, in children's hospitals. im a care aide and this is theraputic, i also have a crush on Nina
