Imagine the set of a new Swedish House Mafia, with Payback, Wasted Love, Something New, On My Way, Reload, Center of The Universe all in the same set, AND the old SHM's songs, Save The Wolrd, Dont You Worry Child, One.. You are correct this song is definitely a metaphor, but of Axwell/\Ingrosso. At the time of SHM's breakup, Steve started to become very busy with SIZE, Ingrosso had just started to want to commit to SHM (in the early years of SHM he was partying a lot and wasn't always there for studio sessions), and Axwell, well he was always foundation of the group and was always committed. The only way for SHM to continue is if every member of the group was fully committed. Steve had different interests, SIZE was getting bigger and bigger and now he's making deep house/electronic music for his upcoming album. In the movie, it seems like the only members who were fighting were Steve and Ingrosso, and Axwell was like a moderator. When Ingrosso says "we are not best friends any more" he's not referencing SHM, he referencing his relationship with Steve. It seems like, Steve and Axwell remain on good terms, but with Steve and Ingrosso they are not as close as they used to be. Whatever conflict was involved with Steve and Ingrosso combined with Steve wanting to focus on his solo career and taking a different path caused the breakup.

The reason behind the video is that all the things people are doing, are keeping them from moving forward in life. Relationships, sex, lifestyle, religion, friends, family, gangs, crime, emotions, hobbies, addictions, etc. there's an open road and nothing stopping them but themselves. The line "don't wait until it's gone" means don't wait until the opportunity to move onto something greater is no longer available. In the end, the motorcyclist chooses to move onto new horizons instead of staying stuck like most people do.
