I love the idea of the boat trailer rollers! I've been wanting to build a 12volt system like this for some time now. Our "Cemetary Trail" is up in our woods where electricity is not an option. Thanks for this tip!
I did that first and the ghosts moved way too slow. I'm using a wiper motor and already running as fast as it would go. I used the bicycle wheel to increase the "gear ratio" and move the line faster.
@@jcraigcx So I get the gear ratio thing now. same situation now, was going to just put the bile wheel on the window motor reducing to the boat roller. Well see if that speeds things up. When you used the rollers, did you put bearings in them somehow or just a bolt down with washers nuts on them? They seem to roll pretty well in your vi with a little shake?
My line to the ghost keeps winding up and eventually winds up to main line. I have a swivel about 6" down but it doesn't seem to stop the winding up. What am I doing wrong?
The swivels need to be on the main line to minimize the twist. If you already have them there, the next thing to look at is the ghost leader. It should be loose on the main line, not tight. Mine are attached with fishing swivels that have the safety snap on one end. The main line can twist all it wants but that will not transfer to the ghost leader.
@@blackwolfacres2759 There are a few ways to do it, but I typically just use a piece of extra string to tie a knot on the mainline to keep the ghost from sliding backwards. Sometimes I'll put one a few feet in front of the ghost to create sliding limits on both sides.
