I don't favour polygamy for myself. I do, however, acknowledge other people's culture, beliefs and preferences. A polygamous relationship or marriage should be treated with respect though, you can't cheat on your wife for 12 years and then come out and say you want to take the makhwapheni as your second wife, that's disrespectful. As soon as you meet someone you want to make a second wife, you should speak to your wife before even doing anything with the new one. I feel like it's also fair to inform someone before you even ask for their hand in marriage that one day you might consider taking another wife so that the woman will stay with you knowing that you are a polygamous man.
