all it takes is one look to the attributes tab to know this is a pointless comparison because each set has different atk and crit stats so if by straight to the point you mean there is no info to get from this then sure, it did so very efficiently

@@hachira True, but the similarity in stats and the similar damage output for all of them results in the conclusion that all these sets are good, just pick the one you have with the best substats. Also, although shimenawa does the most normal atk dmg, take into account the lack of burst uptime which is a buffer and increased damage for Ayato. Honestly all these sets are basically the same outputting damage if you view it that way. I wish Genshin added some kind of character simulator mode (Like the beta stage but in game) where you can select a character and place the exact same stats on an artifact, optimal for testing artifact sets.

You are right, and it pains me to see people wasting days and weeks worth of resin and time to farm a 4pc set which will be only 5k damage per whole E better, and not even consistently. While everyone has good Gladiator pieces just passively accumulated from bosses

yoimiya's damage will be less with echoes. her NA has multiple hits, and each one of them have very different scaling with the last hit being nearly double of her first hit. so if her echoes buff procs on low scaling hits, it will do less dmg. ayato's each slash has very similar scaling with the third hit being only 20% higher. This allows him to do pretty much same dmg no matter when the echoes buff procs.

In terms of consistency I'd rather say the new EoO set is better than HoD set. It's because most of time you deal more damage during E with that set. In the long run EoO set is always better than HoD and that's what video shows. In fact I can even give you some numbers because I wrote a simple program that "performs" a really high number of E attack sequences so I can compare average damage dealt with EoO set to the other sets. Of course, differences in damage depend on different factors, like, for instance: elemental DMG bonuses, atk% substats, from other sources and other (than from EoO) flat DMG bonuses. Not going much into details, when using Ayato's signature weapon and with average stats from artifacts, you deal about 13-14% more DMG during E with EoO in relation to HoD. When using Amenoma Kageuchi it's only about 3-4%. With good amount of other flat DMG bonuses, like from Yun Jin burst, this advantage drastically drops and HoD can deal more. This is because other flat DMG bonuses kinda understate the value of flat DMG bonus from EoO set. It'll be even up to 10% more with signature and 3% more with AK sword. I assume you have Yun Jin with 13 lvl Burst and some good DEF% artifacts on her. Edit: I corrected damage formula and values changed. Checked some other weapons. Now with some nice Flat Damage bonus from other source, damage with HoD can exceed that with EoO. Just like when using Shimenawa set but Shimenawa gets even few % better.

lucky me i farmed hod beforehand so i got some good pieces. But some upgrades went to energy recharge which is still not bad for ayato. I was so surprised how i found those my childe still has some flat pieces.

Idk what version of genshin you playing but Glad is not easy to farm. (update) fuck sake, yea I get it, I completely forgot strongbox was a thing because I rarely use it . If only echoes is not rng it will be so good, shimenawa is meh for me because that minus 15 energy, 1,5+year playing still not have any good 4 set gladi, so best set for me is hod :''))

Use ayato ult before the rotation and you get the 15 energy by the time you switch back to ayato to activate the shimenawa passive. Plus you can use xinqiu in the team and put him last to the rotation and use E before switching back to ayato so that ayato gets the particles and will have more than enough energy to actuvate ng shimenawa. HoD and glads is for those who cant think. Shimenawa is still the best artifacts for him. Its a matter of strategy. Exactly my point.

Also the Ult dmg should be Better with HoD

@@georgesr8979 The thing is, the burst damage should be better with 18% ATK bonus from EoO and SR set if you use Hydro% goblet. The difference is not big though. Edit: Not true for some weapons and easy to overcome with some ATK% team buffs. Then HoD is better.

@@tomaszhua4171 nope, attacks stats have higher diminishing returns because they can be obtained by alot of sources (Substats, main stats, sets, buffs, resonance, etc) while elem%dmg only has goblet and kazuha

​@@andrewjamez9741 Yh, you right. I totally forgot that crit damage doesn't go in the same bracket with the elem% dmg in the damage formula. Instead it multiplies the whole outgoing damage. Still, I checked, and what I said about burst dmg can be true for some weapons, however it can be easily beat with some team ATK% buffs. Yes, I consider atk% sands of eon, feather, some atk% and atk substats and so on. Mistsplitter Reforged needs some better ATK% party buffs for HoD to be better at burst dmg since it can give even 40% elemental damage. Don't forget that elem% dmg fall within "DMG% bonus" category. So it sums with other DMG% bonuses like from some talents, from 2pc-Noblesse, 4pc-Emblem, 4-pc Shimenawa, 4pc-Glad, weapons like Serpent's Spine (even 40% at R5), The Catch, Lion's Roar, Dragon's Bane, The Alley Flash etc. Basically any bonus that has "DMG" in description and it's value unit is "%".

I have four piece HoD on him with The Black Sword (no refinements), I’m not sure if this is ideal? Should I do Echos instead?

@@gooeyribs4128 the black sword with 4 piece HOD is perfectly fine, i also don’t suggest farming for echoes if you’re an older player as it’s more likely for you to have better HOD/glad pieces, however if you want the other set for xiao for example then go ahead and farm the echoes domain. otherwise black sword with hod is good!

It's pretty much the same in dmg comparison. Just use whichever has the best substat. My 4 glad hits harder then my 4 hod bcuze of substat.

Same argument for echoes tho cuz it scales based on your atk

Maybe one day I will get HOD for him but for now I got 80%crit with, 205crit damage, 70em, and 140% energy recharge. This is with gladiator set.

Yeah I'm currently running HoD also. But I think I should replace on of the main values with Hydro Damage bonus I think.

It's pretty much the same. Others sets gives you atk% and it boost your burst too so at the end of the day everything is fine. I run HoD because I have some really nice pieces but that's all.

Same, I used the one I had with Childe and now he has good attack and like 85/200 on crit

to add a small detail, not only it is rng, but also ping reliant, so if u are playing ayato on a orange/red ping daily basis, that set is bad, better go with HoD/shime/Glad instead

@@drogadepc well since Shimenawa will cost you some energy from your burst so it is more reliable when you are only spamming his e skill because you always will want some energy on his burst. Echos on the other hand will offer less dmg then the Shimenawa set but since it doesn’t cost burst energy you will be able to use his burst. Keep in mind that his burst will increase his normal atk speed high will result in some extra dmg. Hope that helped this is my reasoning so it could be disapproved.

His burst dosent give him attack speed it gives him normal attack dmg (20% at lvl 10), it was changed since the beta, currently best way to increase his attack speed are Yun Jin c6 and Jean c4

@@bebekoexd7537 Only the holder but ayato's burst give a buff for normal attacks so it's better to use burst before the elemental skill plus you lose 15 energy of your burst and if you don't have 15 energy and above you won't get the effect that's why Glad or Hod are much more stable and Echoes on the other hand is a whole annoying rng itself unless you have xiao and ayato then both of them can benefit in that domain

Actually, that 18% ATK 2 piece bonus from the new set or Shimenawa's should give you a little more burst damage. I wasn't lucky enough to get Ayato but it's easy to calculate. I assume you equip elemental goblet. Edit: true for some weapons, depends one substats, easy for HoD to overtake with a small ATK% buff.

@@tomaszhua4171 it's easy to get ATK from different sources (Bennett, nobles,pyro resonance.etc) the 15% hydro DMG bonus is really good and hard to get, unless you use kazuha,the hydro DMG bonus is better than ATK%

And if You use a 4 star weapon,the ATK increase won't be much
