Almost everything in a hospital is single-use, so taking it with you is just stopping it from being tossed into a dumpster. Really, you're doing them a service. Ever plan your meals influenced solely by the expiration dates of the ingredients available to you to save some cash? EXAMPLE you got some milk that's still do-able for a few more hours and enough eggs left for pancakes and an omelet and some fruit that just passed it's peak. So today you eat pancakes, tomorrow an omelet, and you hope the apples survive 2 more days so you can eat the day after. It makes the difference between February and March. Those 28 days help stretch your buck, but the 31 after can be rough.

Classy party move tip: have a mix drink of the night for the party. Have your beers and couple bottles vodka or whatever. But also let's say you have the stuff to make a satin angel or Irish car bombs etc etc. And don't down play a tray of brownies to munch on at the end of the night.
