@onikoloboegba You are quite right, Ayinla was always ready to take on anyone he felt crosses him. I think it's important for us not to let these things overshadow is orginality, dynamism and the fact that he is a genius. In my opinion Ayinla Omoruwa is one of the best ever musicians from Nigeria. He is right at the top!
He could sing,he could rap[although you may call it ogede or ofo].even at the time when the hip-hop, rap fusion was non-existent on the American music scene.He could do whatever he liked with songs[praise,curse,pray,tell stories,describe,educate,admonish...]whoever is still in doubt about the exceptional skills of Ayinla omowura(GOLDCHILD) is not been truthful to him/herself.
Does anyone know who he was 'yabbing' in this album as atohunrinwa (migrant)? It appears not to be Fatai Olowonyo as he said at the beginning of the album that the quarell had been settled.
It could be Yusuf Olatunji that he was referring to because in one of his album he said he would only reciprocate respect and that apart from Haruna Ishola, he respected no other person
@walelaspo That is completely false. In fact, Ayinla respected and idolized Baba L'egba and Haruna Ishola throughout his lifetime. Both were in fact like father figures for him. I even have an album that he made for Baba legba when the man died in the late 70s.
Well, the fact is thatthe "atowunrinwa" Ayinla was referring to was Yussuf Olatunji (aka Baba Legba) who actually was a natrive of iseyin, but made his name as musician in Ayinla's hometown, Abeokuta.
@@semiuadurogangan8609 I believe he was refering to a fellow apala musician called Ajape originally from oke Ogun but based at Abeokuta at the time. Remember Ayinla also refered t9o Ajape in one nof his record as fine fine medicine who drifted to Mushin from Abeokuta. Peace
@@demolabamgbose690 In this particular album “Abode Mecca”. He was referring to his former drummer, Baba Adewole Oniluola. They had separated a few years before this album and he referred to Baba Oniluola as Atohunriwa because Oniluola’s heritage was from Ibadan in Oyo state (Ile elega) even though Baba himself was born and bred in Egbaland. Before this album, Ayinla usually reserve the term “Atohunrinwa” for Ajape Ojubanire who hailed from Ilorin, Kwara state.
