I've been driving for decades and this is still a challenge when you're not expecting it - not helped by the sign being completely obscured by the trees. Got my MOD2 in Aylesbury later, so let's see how it goes! Thanks for a hopefully very helpful video

Turns out it was a very helpful video - my examiner took me through this horrible example of town planning and I managed a pass with 'no recordable faults' - cheers Steve!

After attempting this recently in the rain at night... just wanted to state it was a scary experience... and I've been driving for a long time!

Can I ask, coming from Bicester Road. What lane should you be in for each direction? For example I was in the left hand lane to go straight over onto Buckingham Road. However the car in the right hand lane hit the side of me as she was using that lane to go onto the roundabout for New Street. Who is in the wrong? Thanks

hi steve i believe this is wrong. the way i see it is once you position yourself in the left before the second roundabout then you should only use that lane to turn left or or go straight ahead when on the third one. only vehicle entering the second roundabout in right has the option to choose central or right most lanes. so what that means is those in the centre lane ll take exit the third roundabout in the left lane while those on the right ll exit in right.

Thanks for your feedback. I'd beinterested to understand your opinion on traffic coming from the Bicester Road and heading to New Street. As they are turning left at the middle roundabout they will be in the left lane and then they will move to the middle lane approaching the "third" roundabout. Clearly all of these options involve careful use of mirrors but as there are no fixed lanes defined in the 3 roundabout system, such as the Walton St roundabout near the Theatre, changing position in the roundabouts is permitted. The root of the problem comes from the habit of local traffic turning left at the first roundabout (junc of Buckingham Street and Oxford Road) contrary to Rule 186 of the highway code. This blocks the right hand lane at the second roundabout at busy times, forcing the user to take the lefthand lane you object to.
