Ayrton Senna Driving and Tuning the Honda NSX 

In February 1989, as Honda's demonstration car, the NSX (New Sportscar eXperimental), was turning heads with its sleek, mid-engined looks, a team of Honda engineers eagerly awaited a "special" verdict on this ambitious company project. Newly crowned Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna tested the NSX at Suzuka. Despite a month of rigorous development by the engineers at Suzuka, Senna remarked that the chassis felt a bit fragile. This feedback led Honda to increase the chassis stiffness by 50%. Senna's relationship with Honda deepened as he helped further refine the car. Senna's perfectionism would turn out to be one more gift the Brazilian left the motoring world.
