Hie Mansi !! An Ayurvedic Doctor here. I love ur channel and I am happy that u brought this topic under light. It is not to offend anyone but I would really love to share some of my opinions: 1) The thing which u kept on repeating that wat a MBBS graduate learns in 5 years koi BAMS vala 6 months me sekhkr will start seeing patients as in the case of bridge course. I would like to correct u here. We study the same subjects as you.Plus we study the same subject in ayurveda too. Eg. - In 4th year we study "surgery" from books like S. Das, SRB and Manipal as well as study its ayur. Counterpart "shalya tantra" from Sushruta samhita. So, the thing is we don't learn esp. In those 6 months but we already have that much knowledge. 2) Our internship of 1 year is divided into 2 parts ; 6 mnths for allopathy and 6 mnths for ayurveda. Reason being in today's time we shud be well versed with every aspect of allopathy. Only then we will be able to explain our points to layman as well as other mbbs doctors. 3) I personally am against BRIDGE COURSE. I am proud for selecting BAMS and i don't need this bridge course. Giving allo. Instead I will go for PG. 4) Today man has become impatient. Patients want immediate results. For this I myself start with a mix and match of ayur. and allo. drugs and then turn it completely towards ayurveda. 5) For people in the comments saying ayurveda can't cure fatal disorders, the first aim of ayur. Is to maintain immunity and such a lifestyle ki koi disease ho hi nai. And not only for lifestyle disorders, ayur. Can b used for fatal conditions too. Its just that due to colonisation no research was ever done on ayur. As was being done for allopathy. Ayurveda is still in its evolving journey becoz it is a very deep science which even I after doing BAMS is unable to understand completely. 6) While in my allo. Internship I used to treat my consultants with ayur. Med. Whenevery they had any condition. They even started giving some ayur. medicines i suggested in nephrolithiasis, gastritis and they found very good results of using them. So basically I feel is that jointly working as a team will do wonders when it comes to BAMS a d MBBS. And solely depending on allopathy is not what an ayur. Doctor shud do. Added point: My mausa ji was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 2018 and is on ayurvedic treatment. Once a relative who is a neurologist visited him and said " I am shocked to see that u are still doing this much well. And then he himself praised that ayur. Doctor." So u see, wonders can be done using ayur. too. - I usually treat rhinitis, sinusitis, and other Resp. Disorders using ayurvedic drugs only. But recently i treated a patient of pneumonia too and he is totally fine now. "No pathy is good or bad. It depends on the person practising that pathy; his knowledge and passion towards his pathy."

Nicely put. I agree with most of your points. That’s why i said in the video too that working together and towards the betterment of the patient should be the goal. My slight disagreement would be on the point that- even though ayurvedic doctors also study exact same syllabus and disease pathologies, the management and curative approach they study for 5 years is a lot different than mbbs doctors who solely study the allopathic medicines for 5 years so that they can understand the BAD effects of the drugs as well in depth. Our pharma professor used to say - learn not what to give to patient but ALSO WHAT NOT TO GIVE TO PATIENTS, and you’ll save their life. This thing can only be learnt when you spend a long time learning the allopathic medicines (since they have a lot of side effects) I appreciate your points though, a lot of what you said is completely true. Wish you the best 😊😊

Literally held a seminar in college about Mixopathy and its drawbacks. Homeopathy views Arsenic as an immunity booster(got prescribed widely in the early days of the pandemic ) while modern medicine views it as a poison as studied under Toxicology. All I'm saying is when two Healthcare systems disagree with each other on such a fundamental level, mixing the two doesn't seem like the best idea.

Ok AYUSH medics have same subjects, but do they read from the same books as MBBS Doctors? Do they go through the same training as us? Have they revised their books and knowledge again and again every one or two years through research as they do in Modern Medicine or is it the same as it was all those thousands of years ago?

yes! a good government ayurvedic college has all these things, you can see bams students have to study most of the modern books and questions, cause that's where the exam comes from, and moreover, they have to learn that to keep up , they have to cover both aspects, they study all the subjects and with modern books and clinical exposure, if u get a good college just like MBBS students do! since allopathy students are not forced to learn sanskrit shlokas and preparing ayurvedic medicine, should we ask them to do so? absolutely not! , that is idiotic, we just need to let everyone freely choose what they have interest in, struggles are everywhere!

@@tanubhasharkar3039 I just think we've seen enough to know which field is being belittled, if your profession would get belittled and compared, wouldn't you want to share the struggles that you go through and everything and let it out? I did not at all mean that we are forced for studying, but I just wanted to say that EVERY FIELD HAS THEIR OWN SET OF STRUGGLES (and to the point for validation, I think everyone seeks for it and needs it, not everyone out here is a saint yet lol and it's completely normal). Not at all did I mention that we are 'forced' to study sanskrit shlokas and all lol, it's just in the curriculum and we have to do it, just like a normal student. It's a little ignorant of you to say that you 'should' have been happy and content pursuing BAMS because even if we do or don't, the social pressure belittles us and as a result, some people do need to seek for validation, that's okay!? You are talking about the result, let's talk about the cause first which is the existing frames of upper and lower put by the society (us). And if no one ever talks about it, when is the time for change?

But they should get allopathy practice approval only after completion of minimum 3 years course.. MD level ...by adding general medicine, community medicine, family medicine subject ,pharmacology.......its should consider equivalent to MBBS..then neither allopathy Dr or Ayurveda Dr, or public, IMA, or NMC, will have any problem... And BAMS also will get easier trained in allopathy medicine in pg level with in 3 years

We as a doctor's ,instead of doing comparison between our medical field should learn to respect each and every field in terms of their management for an example for a particular condition like haemorrhoids kshara sutra surgical procedure in ayurvedic surgery has much better results as compared to haemorrhoidectomy , where as in emergency conditions we have to go with allopathic emergency drugs , so for a particular condition which field gives better result we must accept it and go with it . And in terms of equality each and every field is equal.

Rightly said! The equal pay thing is right too, the only point is- the job opportunities should be separate. When mbbs jobs are diluted with other fields, it undermines their efforts. no hard feelings for you Mansi. but from my point of view, i think there's no valid reason that BAMS doctors should not get an equal paycheck as MBBS doctors, BAMS is a course with the same duration like MBBS, i.e., 5.5 yrs., same subjects, same curriculum plus learning a new language (sanskrit). MBBS doctors also have to struggle like for eg., clearing NEET with a higher score, but BAMS doctors also have to go through different struggles like as I said earlier, learning languages. Also, it should not dissapoint or discourage aspiring doctors because BAMS is not inferior or superior to MBBS, it's just what suits you and what you want to do. But apart from my critique, i think anyone is entitled to their opinion, and your opinion was fun to watch ! :)

And not to forget , unlike mbbs doctors they dont even have walk in interviews rather much more filtered doctors are selected. So i feel even they deserve an equal pay scale !!! My point is that switching fields to stay relevant and dilute up job opportunities of mbbs doctors should not be an “overcoming struggle” point for ayush doctors. Their struggle should be to get more employment opportunities in their own field. They should know that being a practitioner of evidence based medicine, they should not believe pseudoscience practices like ayush unless there is a scientific evidence. Ayurveda is the legacy of India originated much before the modern science.. And tbh ayurveda students really work hard studying both the pathies side by side.. They deserve much more than equal pay scale.. And its for time when ppl will fear putting those chemicals in their body..

There is not at all equality in ug exams...... states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi having very high cut-off compared to other states.... compelling the students to take bams...... and then after 5 1/2 yr of studying both ayurved and modern ..... what we get.... nothing.( Just because we got some 10-20 marks less in ug exams ).... cost of treatment should be same whether from mbbs or bams.....hence pay scale should be equal

I have a question anybody can answer What we call ayurveda as ayurveda and allopathy as allopathy See in dengue fever a medicine is given by mbbs doctors and bams doctors carica papaya leaf extract tablet So i don't know what you call ayurveda as ayurveda and allopathy as allopathy So point is no one learn things from mothers womb we all learn all these things here And we support and encourage each other and work together for the betterment of patient not to satisfy our egos Or shayad ye kisi ko nhi pata hoga last year south me ek doctor the Dr.C.P. MATHEW UNKI DEATH HUI or vo ek oncologist the pr vo sara ka sara treatment ayurveda se karte the he was a mbbs doctor So i still don't know what you call ayuveda as ayurveda and allopathy as allopathy

If a doctor either ayurvedic or allopathic use herbal medicine plus modern medicine in a mix manner to treat a patients so it is much better,but here doctor intension must to cure patient not to make money...... We should respect each other professionals because every pathy doctors does equal hard work to learn their respective pathies. After all ,Our ultimate aim to treat patients. And we should also know that many foreigners come to our country for the treatment of many diseases only from our traditional medicine. Our country has ayurvedic medicine as a treasure. It is found only in our country, not found anywhere else in whole world.So we must respect our traditional medicine,we should not compare it with any other pathy.

I'm neither from bams nor mbbs😂 But I can say ki why mbbs doctors feeling discouraging if salary or options of bams is uplifted. I mean if mbbs dr would have been willing to serve in rural why govt would have thought about it? Why compulsory bonds has to be made after mbbs? Bams doctors aren't paid decent although they too have 5.5 years of training in their particular field. Forget about social respect which atleast mbbs graduate do get. This is said on my surroundings observations. Ps(I'm not biased towards anyone)

Ayurveda ki current state aur allopathy ki current state me sirf 1 difference hai...150 saal ki R&D,allopathy too started with making drugs by willow bark,and there should be huge contribution by gov for both of the sectors...

true. There should be more opportunities in jobs for both sectors and especially ayurveda since its gaining so much attention and is important in holistic medicine.

lol nice ... (1)but litrally every allopathic doctor is allowed to prescribe ayurvedic medicines to boast up immunity or to cope up with pcods or to cope up with such long term problems...they dont need a bridge course to do that....but bams doctors need a bridge course to do the same.. (2)mbbs ug doctors work hard to get 600 in neet ug but the one who got 570 (that means got just 6 more questions wrong out of 180 question in neet # the same damn paper) did not work hard enough.... coz obvyously he missed it by such a big number of six question out of 180 ....definetly mbbs students deserve a higher pay. (3) medicine is beautiful bbut medicine means allopathy.... and ayurveda(which is technically the most ancient medicine art) is just ayurveda...(to be mentioned they study almost everything that mbbs student does except one or two subjects).... so obviously anyone going for medicine (# allopathy) should not be disheartened by being an equal and not superior to someone who scored jst 6 questions less than him. (4)bams doctors and allopathy doctors must not go a cold war bbut bams is nt medicine and doesnt deserve an equal pay and mbbs does ....because obviously ....lol.... no reason required. (5)mbbs is superior but in corona nobody i repeat nobody skipped an ayurvedic kadha or medicine irrespective of the pathy of treatment they opted for.....bbbut mbbs is superior ...because obviously... u know 6 questions man ...how can you ever forget those damn 6 questions of the syllabus of 11th and 12th standard...like no way CONCLUSION: A good english and six questions can make anything sound logical and respectful. 😂 LOL (I am not a bams student or doctor.. in fact my own brother is an allopathic doctor in the government college of agra plus i was damn free today so ...this garage ...no i won't support it)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Priyanshi 😊 Let me clear up a few points, For Allopathic doctors there is no course that lets them officially practice as an ayurvedic doctor unlike with bams doctors. If mbbs doctors started doing the same thing you’re saying, ayush doctors would be out of jobs and completely become an irrelevant course. We do advise some remedies only as preventive methods but you will not find any doctor claiming they work definitely since we do not know much about ayurveda medicine. mbbs doctors never claim to know more than Ayush doctors when it comes to herbal remedies. And Allopathic doctors study chemical drugs and their benefits and side effects and what they can do to your body and how to dose them and why they work the way they do for 5 years. Sole 5 years dedicated to knowing about these drugs that ayurvedic syllabus would not cover. While disease pathology is same and ayush doctors know them well, they are experts in knowing herbal medicines better so giving allopathic drugs should not be allowed before spending 5 years of dedicated learning about the drugs. People who score average marks in NEET and then take ayurveda are NOT AT ALL BENEATH anyone! I never said that. If anything, AYUSH medicine should become a field of expertise of its own! That’s what i’m saying. Ayush doctors should not WANT TO SWITCH to allopathy just because they want to male more money or become relevant. They should use their field knowledge and TRUMP THE WESTERN MEDICINE by USING THEIR HOLISTIC APPROACH. So similar pay should be there for AYURVEDIC DOCTORS who specialise in their field of expertise, not otherwise However, i appreciate your insights. Wish you the best 😊

i think modern medicine is highly effective in treatment for the patient. The medicine is produce after lot of research ,series of expreince like ADR , aderverse drug reaction, contra indication. Research is going on whole of world , But here only Aurvadic is only india follow, here heavy metal are used . Govt today understand the Value of modern medicine ie why they established more and more medical college , nursing college , pharmacy college, primary health center,. All the modern equiement to diagonised dieases like MRI to CT scan ,PET scan, lab test for blood to diagnoised disease , which is not possible in Aurvadic medicine and hemopathic medicine. so i think modern medicine is the best compare to old. it is my view what is your view madam ji, I am arindam dutta roy registard pharmacist.kolkata.
@harshithav3770
@harshithav3770 2 года назад
Even In Ayurveda we do study regarding adverse effects and contraindications of drugs used ...each and every procedures mentioned in any samhitas have their indications and contraindications clearly mentioned .and regarding drug toxicity , heavy metals are not used as such there are specific shodhana procedures told to remove / reduce its toxicity and yes dose plays an important role ...be it modern u can't prescribe 10 tablets of acetaminophen tid right ....Be it Ayurveda or Modern...proper dose plays crucial rule .

Haha rightly said But doing our own thing would work if employment opportunities weren’t being diluted by mixing of two fields. I dont disagree about equal pay thing, the point is that there should be more jobs and posts created for ayurvedic medicine separately instead of using up the same limited posts as for mbbs doctors. Wouldn’t anyone feel insecure if their job placements were taken up by some other field??
