I heard about Nas before AZ but I still never liked rap that much I knew that Nas was really good but I still wasn’t interested in listening to it that much though I really enjoyed it. But when I heard life’s a bitch I wanted to feel like that because it was so real. I won’t ever forget that song. I heard it in the summer time in Brooklyn at Albany day on some turntables. It was so real that I thought that it was the dj that was playing it song. I think that I asked him over and over until he got really upset. I was that amazed by it. But then I went back to my projects in Brooklyn sumner houses and I asked this rapper named Maze have he heard something like life’s a bitch and he knew the whole entire verse I made him repeat it like five times. I found out then who AZ was I thought that his name stood for the alphabet and how fast and smart and intelligent that he is. But by time sugarhill with miss jones came out I was writing every word of it and memorizing them to perform sugarhill for the drug dealers in the neighborhood. But they already knew who it was but they let me finish the song anyway…….etc.
