Twenty two cruises with Azamara over 14 years. Love the small ship, which is easy to get around, great ports (and small ones where huge ships cannot go), the food is excellent, all inclusive (except some high end alcohol and the fancier restaurants) and the crew is Absolutely The BEST.

How do these ships handle rough weather? Any sea sickness issues?

@@acrubendall there are barf bags hanging everywhere, candied ginger and green apples, some people always have scope patches on ( not my idea of good medical care), ask your own doctor about OTC prep as I will not give medical advice, there is a physician on board. Hold onto railings and walls is the best advice. Seriously it is not that bad. The captain does what is possible to avoid storms to begin with. We have seen the restaurants closing for a time. You are safe. And in a gale, do not open your veranda door. If you need fresh air, take ELEVATOR to deck 9 to breathe. Deck 5 and 10 outside would be closed .

Was just on Azamara Quest and it was almost identical to this. The only real difference I noticed was that the Quest had the piano in The Den, not The Drawing Room. The Den seemed more appropriate since it has a bar, and The Drawing Room is a library. I wonder if they're going to change that? The Quest had a great piano player/singer playing in The Den most nights.

Not long off Pursuit after an 18-night cruise from Cape Town to Las Palmas (Feb20-Mar09, 2024). The ship is in very good condition. Only point we would raise is the colour scheme for the entire ship is beige on beige. Probably thought by Azamara decision makers as "Classic" but really boring. And we found it didn't help us to get a grasp of where everything was. Some cruise ships use different colours for carpets on port versus starboard, or fore and aft. Pursuit isn't a big ship, but we still found we didn't know our way around after several days aboard because there were no colour or design clues as to where we were. A few alternative patterns or colours in the carpets, or some interesting art on the walls would help alleviate the overwhelming impression of beige!
