Amazing review! Just went ahead and purchased this dash cam. It looked more well thought out than other more expensive 4K 3 channel cams, and after this review I very much so believe it is. Other dash cams have 1 or 2 or many issues and don’t seem reliable. This looks well rounded and well thought out. I will be coming back to edit this comment to leave my thoughts when it arrives here in 3 days.
@@warriorfunctional9097 I had never heard of that before so I just looked at comment and video reviews, it seems like a great camera but an issue a lot of people have with it is that the video skips quite noticeably. And although the other ones are usually super small ones the Togaurd doesn’t come with any SD card. The video quality looked quite good but I wouldn’t do it personally because of how many people said it skips in videos. The video I watched it skipped very short bits but quite frequently, I’ve seen the one I bought do it once or twice but the Togaurd seemed to do it constantly in that review video.
@@warriorfunctional9097 Also that was only 10 minutes of searching so take all that with a grain of salt I may have just found the worst info for it, but I would steer clear just to be safe.
Thanks for the detailed, thoughtful video! I have a couple of questions. 1. What is the best conclusive position (how far below the rear mirror?) to have the indoor camera and front camera get the unobtrusive views, compared to your your test installation position? 11:15, 18:08 (motion detection) 2. And, do you think M550 would record the car hitting the vehicle without losing the critical first few seconds? I see you pop up like a magician in your motion test. It looks like M550 is not recording 1st 2-3 seconds of the sudden events. 21:42 3.You mentioned the motion sensor is picking lingering from the front camera - What if the impact/lingering is from the back trunk? (street parallel parking situation) Does the rear cam still record the impact in the rear area? Thanks!
Great video Tony! Nice review. I was looking at the Vantrue N4 or Thinkware U1000, but the AZDOME looks like a bang for your buck winner in my "to get next list". Again great job!!!
Hi Im Richard I just wanted to say your video was so informative thanks so much I wound up purchasing one of these cameras for my sons car hes a beginner driver so I wanted to give him all the protection needed on the road Thanks again for your video
Hello. I have a question in parking mode, when the dashcam records movement or impact on the car, is there any alarm or warning when we get back to the car? Or do we have to check every day in the security folder if there is any recorded situation? Thank you for your attention.
Nice camera. But I have a quick question plz Why the light screen goes off every 1 minute of recording I want to keep the screen on light for all time. Is there any setting I can set up.
Just bought a THINKWARE U 1000 2 channel too small memory card 32 and paid for it over $550 ! I wish I would have seen this earlier. Im kinda happy but it is quite glitchy..snap
I noticed in your "gallery" there was lots of saved videos . . . does it simply record lots of 3 minute videos (if thats your time setting) and then rewrite when the memory card is full? So if I drove for 2 hours, would the whole 2 hour journey be saved on the memory card? Hope that makes sense,
Great review video. Would have liked to see if there were WDR choice available on it. Also did it have HUD of speed option other than just in the small screen font. The display of gps didnt seem to work for some of the video. Is that you turned it off or just a product failure?
Nice, thorough review. Thankyou. May I ask if I want to save a recording while driving, perhaps of an attractive view or a close call (that doesn't trigger the G-sensor and automatic save function) can I press a button to save that recording or is my only choice to save it to my phone before the file is overwritten? Also, is the rear camera waterproof (IP 65,66, ....) allowing it be positioned outside the car? I have an SUV with a hatchback which makes positioning the camera inside the rear screen a bit messy because it's difficult to hide the cables.
@@peterpowers4851 No, but since I posted my question I've decided to go for a different camera. One reason being that I wanted a more popular camera so that info is more readily available. Good luck.
Hi Peter. If you go to Amazon and open the page for this camera you will find lots of useful info in the Q&A section regarding what this camera can and cannot do. Including someone saying that in order to lock a video you can long press the up button to lock the current video (1, 3 or 5 minutes), and notice that the lock icon will appear on the screen. Hope that helps
Great video Tony, both the audio and visual presentations. I have a Subaru/Forester/Touring 2020, equipped with "EyeSight", mounting the Azdome M550 will not interfere in the feature/functionality of the "EyeShight". Secondly, does this need to be hardwired using capacitors, than Lithium Battery. I'm in Ponte Vedra, Fl temp goes to lower 90's. Thank you.
Hello, what is the maximum memory? does it work with 256gb, or would 128gb be the maximum? and you can also indicate what other memory card can be used instead of AZDOME (a card that won't cause problems). Thank you.
If you have the hardwire kit, will the motion and shock sensor work when the car is parked automatically or do you still have to select the parked feature everytime you park it?
hey great video. Where's the link for the download for the program for your computer? Thanks so much and keep the videos coming. I just purchased this cam and from what I'm hearing about this cam, I'm loving it so far. Thanks again
High tech. How did you mount the rear camera in your truck ? I have a Silverado and not really sure how to mount it….AZDOME didn’t do a good job of providing a decent way to mount it in the back… also would rather have a suction mount instead of the tape….I do like how you can mount the front cam with the magnet….it’s like they put all their design into that part of the cam and just threw everything else together and said that’s good enough. But it’s not. Wishing I’d spent my money else where now…oh well. Any way you could do a short vid on rear mount for us please ?
Hello, it looks like the connection for the cabin camera was realized via an HDMI connection. Would it be possible to move it to another place in the interior using an HDMI cable?
Hi There is problems with this cam when ever you switch off or disconnect you have to set time and date again even if you switch off 2 minutes or 5 minutes. Any solution please
If you have a android radio can you use that as the screen instead of the tiny one it comes with?and can you use the app and monitor the cars inside camera?
How easy was it installing the rear camera ? I’m trying to find a camera with less wiring or wiring that I don’t have to take car apart to adjust the wires lol
You won’t want to turn off the speed stamp anyhow. Imagine being involved in a wreck and the other party accuses you of speeding on a road, but your trusty dash cam proves you were doing the speed limit or even going under the speed limit. It’ll save you.
May I bother you with another question? I have the app and I tried to connect it to the unit via my car's wifi (which the app recognizes) I get an error message even though the wifi on the unit is enabled. Any advice? Tks.
The wifi is only used to connect to the app, turn on the cameras wifi then connect to it with your phone and open the app. You can then view the videos that are saved on the camera from the app.
Very informative video , thank you! I think the question had been asked but I don't remember seeing your reply if you could use a male to female HDMI extension cable to mount the inside camera in another location rather than having it plugged into the main unit?? I appreciate you taking the time to reply to me. Best regards, David
So although it looks like a mini hdmi connection the pinout is quite different. The mini hdmi fits in the connection though. I don’t think you will be able to use a normal mini hdmi connection to do what you are trying to do.
This might be a silly question..but when the car is in motion, but the camera screen is dark, or you can't see an actual image on the camera is the camera still recording? I noticed with my camera that when I'm driving the camera will cut off...but as soon as I hit a bump in the road the camera comes back on with a visible recording
@@HighTechCheck I am just north of you in Monument, but grew up in the Springs…Just bought 2 of these for my vehicles and the hardwire kit, so thanks again!
Great review. How do you power this device when the vehicle is turned off? How will it record in the G-shock or motion detection mode when the vehicle turned off? Are the cables long enough for a SUV?
Thanks for the great video, I just installed and hardware it to my car last week, but it turns of after 3 minutes of recording. I press the OK button then I recorded for 3 minutes then the camera turn of is this normal?
Hi, great video. It would be okay if I ask you to review Akeeyo 360 mirror camera? In my case, I ordered everything except for the side camera and my parking monitoring does not work. I'm more than confident that I have hardwire the camera correctly. Perhaps your review could give me more insight of this product. I'm thinking, maybe I need the side camera in order to make the parking monitoring work? I just don't know. Thanks.
I can't seem to get my Wi-Fi turned on, they gave me the password but it didn't work, I even tried it case sensitive and it still didn't work, can you help me
My AZDOME app, keeps going off. Meaning I have keep downloading my app every time. I did everything I saw you do. I want to connect or you supposed to do each every time your car Turn off or start up
You only connect to the dash cam when you need to download the videos to your phone or other app related things, It doesn’t stay in that mode all the time.
Is your phone an IPhone? I have the same problem . You need to press ( ok) on the dashcam to stop recording than turn off the cellular data in ur phone than try to connect via WiFi .
I ordered one but it's not in English so I don't know how to set it up but I already my Wi-Fi to connect to my car so I could connect the Wi-Fi to this but I need a video if you know any videos to explain how to in not install but to program it because it's not in English 😎
Help... How do we reset the language on the camera? Accidentally programed the language to one that isn't English or Spanish.. it's Asian characters that we can't read anything on it.
I’m stuck on the Rayfoto 3 Channel and the Azdome 3 Channel. They both look about the same. The only thing is I can’t tell which one is better for night time driving. And which one has a better app.
So the camera needs to be powered somehow when the car is off to use that feature, the hardwire kit is the more permanent option. You can also use a portable battery bank if you only need it for certain times.
What's your feeling about this cam since you've had it for awhile?? It's been kind of a disappointment for me. It was installed in my car Aug 7th and by Aug 15th the rear cam went out and was no longer working. It's being replaced. About a 10 day turnaround. By Aug 18th I was having to reformat my SD card because I was getting a memory card error. I'm still confused as to how to stop the recording in parking mode...its seems like it wants to continue recording even though I might have the park monitor box unchecked. To go from wifi to recording again seems like a pain sometimes also. Also when reviewing sd card video on my tablet or pc the front video is like in slow motion for some reason. When viewing on my phone front video is normal speed. Rear video was fine regardless of where I viewed it. I wish they had a means to share video with them if we had issues. Pros- Customer service has been good and fairly responsive for the most part - wifi and gps player are pretty cool - video is more than sufficient...I think it's a crap shoot getting good license plate views at night....during day you're fine for the most part. - parking monitor has not disappointed.
It’s been good for me so far. I stopped using the rear and inside cabin cams as I only care about the front. I had issues using an iPhone trying to watch playback by Bluetooth but my android worked fine. What phone are you using?
@@mrchrome3476 I figured it out. Say you download any video from your dash cam to your phone. All you have to do is upload the video into the AZDOME software on your computer, it already has all the speed, location, and other data.
@@theoriginaljean3917 I’ve gotten the ideas to upload before what I can’t seem to achieve is getting the dash cam and cam cam to play at the same time like it does on the dash cam screen.
Its help video but big problem is not connecting to my iphone 11 I download the app it did several time to connect its get connected but not working and also to help it work for long time record video or just shorts
@@HighTechCheck Just saw they are having issues with Iphones right now. To successfully get that to work, you also have to turn off data on the iphone to get this to successfully work. I saw that on the amazon site questions being asked about this cam and they are in the works of fixing this issue now.... :)
