"Aze No Kirameki" is an illumination event held every year at Shiroyone Senmaida in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. In this event, 25,000 solar LEDs will be installed on the terraced rice paddies, and the four colors of cherry blossom pink, seedling green, rice ear gold, and rough waves of the Japan Sea will represent the four seasons of Senpada. The color changes every 15 minutes.
The event will be held from Saturday, October 21, 2023 to Sunday, March 10, 2024, and the illumination will be on for about 4 hours after sunset.
Shiroyone Senmaida is a landscape that represents the "Satoyama Satoumi of Noto", which is registered as a World Agricultural Heritage Site, and the "Aze No Kirameki" that colors the beautiful scenery provides visitors with a fantastic sight.
The Oku Noto International Art Festival 2023 is an international art festival held once every three years in the entire city of Suzu in Ishikawa Prefecture. The exhibition will be held from September 23 to November 12, 2023.
In this art festival, 59 groups from 14 countries and regions participated, and 60 works were exhibited in Suzu City.
The Oku Noto International Art Festival has gained support for artists from Japan and abroad who face the place of Suzu and express their works rooted in the land. Contemporary art, created in collaboration with artists, citizens, and supporters, and the climate of Oku Noto resonate with each other, creating an experience of time and space that shakes the five senses.
Suzu City is located at the tip of the Noto Peninsula and is surrounded by the sea on three sides. Suzu has a history as a "tip" that was once opened to the Sea of Japan, and has a rich culture such as festivals and food. The starting point of the Oku Noto International Art Festival is the idea that even if "Saihate" is inconvenient at present, if you change your perspective, it will become a "cutting-edge" that will open up the future.
