Simply beautiful. Azedia connects with us through a medium of emotion we have all experienced: Regret. Combining electronic, piano, guitar, and amazing vocals in such a way is an amazing feat. This song is quite extraordinary!

I vividly remember listening to this the day sheepy uploaded it almost 4 years ago. I was in my car, parked on a hill in the woods near my house, playing it through the radio and staring up through the open sunroof at the stars. Strange how randomly you remember something so small and seemingly insignificant.

It reminded me of Cloud Atlas when they were in their future lives... It's very cybernetic futuristic war style music intertwined with classical narration. I see a vast wasteland as two commanding armies charge at each other and collide into a destructive maelstrom. 2:20 on when it starts going into the "I - I - I - I - I" little bits. It's about the one who sacrifices their humanity for the sake of the war. He or She is faced with a decision to make. Obviously the choice is for what they believe in, and go into the climactic finale. The final minute of the song really tied it together for me. The story was told, and war was over, and rain poured down on the bodies of loved ones, brothers that fought side by side, and had to watch their blood flow down into a river... Only one stands to tell this story. Was Victory Worth It?

the guitar makes you want to sing along while it plays and does its solo. it's amazing.

Azedia is one of my favourite artist, delivering fantastic music without fail .

Absolute love! It seems that some people didn't appreciate this song very much, but I found it very unique and effective. The vocals reminded me a slight bit of an Evanescence song. And that guitar solo was very epic.

I love AZEDIA, they're music always calms me down and the vocalist has a soothing voice that I would compare to Greta Svabo Bech.

I love the implied repetition of "I', "I", "I", such as to indicate the "agony" of the Ego.

4.5 years later, and this song is still absolutely fucking amazing. Matter of fact, all of AZEDIA's music is still fucking amazing to this day, especially Requiem For The New World. Why hasn't AZEDIA been making any big appearances on this channel or others even though they still make music?

I have sacrificed all that I believe in. I have known Azedia for a while now, and am still trying to understand their words, just as I try to understand the almost fictiousis nature of God for myself. What do we believe in? Is it that simple truth that we are afraid in? That small chore we never get around to; watching as little by little this pain of life forces us with desire against desire to a false sense of security? Making us forget, like teardrops of alcohol, our worries and cares which we blot out with our vices?! What have we become, in the corner of our minds which we dare not tread, that are animals betraying desire through the whip of contrived boredom? What are our lives worth in this state? Here I bleed these questions because my heart aches with questions of which I have denied myself from answering! Those few who would dare to unlock this secret of life, as Azedia has sang to me must first love themselves and live the world in its void that it leaves behind, as the man who spoke of nothingness, and the man who spoke of new world has said, and who've I learned from. Don't think me dull in these references, for this is truly what I believe in!! For I have sacrificed all that I believe in, but won't any longer. I'll allow my heart to rest after it has broken apart in these words so it may heal. I will find that truth I have been searching for as I deny these trivial temptations of life to roll past my breadth. And I will love again.
