The tone of the movie is mild, slow, humble, don't expect the movie to be like padmavat or Bajirao Mastani, it is a master piece in its own soft, naive, tender way.
Oh god, please someone sub this for them. They are not giving gold. The people liked the king and gave a title out of love and the king is giving his body weight of gold to the people. The Queen returns from her maternal home after a long time so they are also welcoming her.
M surprised that the director wants an Indian Princess to look without a Gray-green eye but at the same time for Akbar, he chose light brown eyes. People have misconceptions about Indian eye color. In my family also there are women with light eyes (gray-green, dark gray, and cat eyes). The Indian majority, we do have dark brown eyes but at least 5% have light eyes including blue, green, and yellow color combinations which are rare but exist.
@@rudraprashad Because Jodhabai, as mentioned by the historians, didn't have grey-green eyes. The director Gowarikar doesn't exaggerate visuals like Bhansali. Gowarikar has a reputation of keeping it authentic.
@@vigneshnehru9822 LOL. What portrait??? Dude, professional historians know better than you about Jodhabai and they NOWHERE mentioned Jodhabai had blue-green eyes.
@@rudraprashad the scenes where Battle of Panipat 2 is shown, has extras... also the last war in the movie. Scenes which show the outsides of ancient palaces are also edited, because today you have buildings, wires and poles all around.
@@abewewew The makers have used CGI in showing huge amount of soldiers and elephants in the first battle of Panipat by duplicating them by CGI..the cannon balls fired and advancing towards the adversaries in the battle against the Rajputs was CGI ..again the palace scenes also had used CGI...
Akbar was happy because the people gave him new name out of love that is “abkar” before this his birth name was “jalaluddin muhammad” and after this event throughout history and even today he is known by the name “jalaluddin muhammad akbar”. “Akbar” means the greatest or the shadow of god. The gold which was being measured by his weight wasn’t the gold given by people, actually it was akbar who was giving the gold to the people in his weight for donation, it was ritual back then that the royal families use to donate gold measured in weight of someone in the family on occasions like birthdays, marriages or celebrations of some sort to express their happiness and gratitude with the people of kingdom.
Hazrat Qutub Jalaluddin was a sufi saint of 16th century in India and known in the Thanesar. Not only his status, but his commands are also famous, his book Tariqa Salikin is world renown as well He was famous mystic saint during Emperor Humayun's and Akbar's rule. Emperor Humayun added Jalauddin in the name of his Son Akbar in the honour of his spiritual guru. And many of royal court members were also his disciples
Yes, this movie is a masterpiece and you should definitely give it watch (it's worth the 3+ hours 😂). But please keep in mind that it was made an entire decade before Bajirao and Padmavat, so don't expect crazy CGI and be prepared for the film's slightly slower pace.
No, it's not. It was shot at many different forts, including a fort they built in ND Studios in Karjat. The structure can be seen even from outside the studio walls
Wtf??? Even the director didn't mentioned "based on true story" Akbar had so many wives... And so many things were fictional... Akbar had killed so many people and involved people for conversion too... So this movie's story is totally fictional...!
@@tushusiddhu3429 Akbar didn't kill Maharana Pratap . He defeated him in the battle of Haldighati but Rana was killed when he suffered an internal injury while drawing a stiff bow.
@@rdsingh3981 We should definitely acknowledge our glorious past. Many of the mughal rulers were bad, but some like akbar were great rulers, lets not stop acknowledging that just becuase it suits our propoganda
@@KavateJayesh That's the issue, for kids like you brainwashing started from school history books and still going on. History belongs to those who write it & older written are always erased.
@@rdsingh3981 Lets not get personal mate, lets keep it intellectual. Please dont get emotional and all riled up. What you said is absolutely correct, winners write the history, but thats not necessarily true always. I cant say the same about say shivaji mahraj or the mauryas and ashoka etc. Either it applies to everything or no one. And i do not deny mughals did plunder india for the most part, but akbar was the better one of them, and a secular one at that
Inspite of being made a good movie ...but its real history was very very different. These film was just to glamourious the name Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar .
True history says there was no such Jodha who maried to Akbar. It was Harkubai or Harka bai or Mariyyam Ujjmani ( named given by mughals) the daughter of King Bharmal of Amer dynasty.
History says that Jodha bai was queen who married to Jahangir ( salim) the son of Akbar & Harkhabai Actually Jodha bai is the daughter in law of Akbar and was married to Jehangir (son of Akbar) and she was the daughter of Mota udai sing of the king of marwad.
@@iamiraa It was Worth. I had a pvr movie voucher that was expiring in few days. I decided to go to whatever movie running that time. It was Jodha Akbar and man, that was some good decision.
King Akbar: I'm extremely happy to see you come here. [Korbin: I love you.] Queen Jodha: I had to come here. Since you have won over my heart. [Korbin: I love you too. I agree.] Great Korbin......I love you so much. I'm seriously laughing so hard at this. You two are Stupidly and Juicily Awesome. 😂❤🙌
They recreated Red fort in ND studios. This particular song is a set. It was used in Panipat again. N also Lean on i feel. They didn't have the heart to take it down.
@@mirzaali4532 The fort shown in the movie isn't supposed to be the Red Fort. It's supposed to be the Agra Fort. Historicity speaking, the construction of the Red Fort was commissioned by Akbar's grandson, Shah Jahan. However, the set was used as the Red Fort in the movie Panipat. It's not confirmed but both of the sets were very similar.
Akbar was not great he killed millions of Hindus and also forcefully converted Hindus. Nothing to proud about. Though enjoy this movie as an entertainment though it’s brainwashing. Actor Hritik and Aishwarya along with director Ashutosh have done great work here
@@sanjanaghosh6472 yup you are right we used this song in sports day , I am running and they freaking start this song it's really weird that we take our stance when the horns blow and azeem o shahenshah ... Run . 😂😂😂
You don't really have to call her Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She's billed that way because of course she's married now and it's tradition to add your husband's surname after your own, but most people still refer to her as Aishwarya Rai! (Unless it's an interview, formal setting, etc.).
There was no wife of Akbar by the name of Jodha. Maan Singh's daughter whom he got married to, as a political alliance with the Rajputs, was Harka Bai. Though Jahangir did have a wife named Jodha. I have been to Fatehpur Sikri, which was built by Akbar to commemorate his siege of Chittoregarh Fort, which was the seat of his throne, and which has been depicted as the location of this song in the movie. It is a heritage site, hence big shoots are prohibited. That's why they had to create the set in Karjat, Maharashtra.
Yes it's true but Her named kept changing from harka Bai and hira Bai I think so, and last Jodha Bai. And Yes it was filmed in my city Karjat at Nitin Desai studio.
@@wakargamingyt name never changed... If anyone has been to fatehpur sikri janankhana you can see harka bai and one mariyam bibi (another wife of Akbar) rooms there.
He had good qualities & was great as a King but for the Indian subcontinent he wasn't good he caused many wars & ravages throughout the country & Overall his family tree was a curse. He was though as a military leader great.
@Jog Antani Chandragupta Maurya & Chankya combined all small kingdoms into one 'Akhand Bharat' but Ashoka too after the Kalinga war (when he turned into Buddhist) expanded the empire to south-asian countries & to Afghanistan in north- west without any war (only with negotiations)
@@harshrajsinhjhala6281 yeah but Akbar was the first mughal to remove jaziya tax from Hindus....so u can say he was a bit secular, he respected every religion. He was born in India, and he did everything to serve her as a king. So, yeah he was best among mughals....
FunFact : Every indian groom feels himself King Akbar when this song is at background..yeah and in india no wedding is complete without playing this song when groom enters😂
You guys enjoyed Gowariker’s two other long films - Lagan and Swades - so I’d wager that you’ll like this too. Though it is slow burning compared to Padmavat.
The most luxurious, beautiful, beyond thinking with top notch acting, historical movie is "Mughal-E-Azam " 1960,, you’ve seen a song of it pyar kiya to darna kiya,,, the emperor Akbar is played by Prithviraj Kapoor (Ranbir's great grandfather)
This is Ashutosh Gowarikar's finest work in terms of Scale, Battle Scenes, Grandeur, Costuming, Cinematography, Music... You Name it. Having seen both Lagaan and Jodha Akbar both, I would watch this much more times than I would watch Lagaan.
The sword scene represents the power and weight that resides in the sword of a king, rather a true king. It was a traditionin India to weight the ruling monarch with gold and donate the weighted gold amongst the poor and needy of the kingdom. Now think how much wealthy India was and still is.
AKBAR IS ONE OF MOST PRAISED KINGS IN INDIA ..... THIS IS HIS ROMANTIC LOVE AND MARRAIGE WITH JODHA A PRINCESS FROM RAJPUT KINGDOM ... THESE ARE HISTROY BUT THIS MOVIE IS CLASSY ONE
Just watch it for the God and Goddesses acting together in a movie for real, they just have a awesomeneeee Chemistry and also, you will be transported to the History, ARR and Ashutosh just make you to do so❤️❤️❤️
Hey Rick & Korbin, I absolutely appreciate all your work. Also I noticed "Ganpati Bappa" Statue (in between) behind you. It shows your love for India & Indian culture. Thank you so very much.
Akbar:::: Height 5'6 inch Weight 72 kg Fat face with a mark of 5 mm diameter at hir right chick Now compare it with hritik roshan. How correct the information is
I liked your reaction, you guys are really humble. The people accepted him as their King and gave him a title that's why he was touched. He would give out gold to people equal to his body weight.
At 7.05... the actor who is in orange costume (playing the character of Todarmalji) is my friend's dad. Pramod Sharma aka Pramod Moutho... he used to play villian in Old Hindi films.
Mixed feelings about you watching this film .... I could just watch for the aesthetics and music ... so, your call guys! Edit: This was definitely the 1st of its kind, in terms of period drama... So, it was something given that was never expected in the first place, those days! So, our enjoyment knew no bounds ..
This song is now played during many weddings when the groom enters the venue. It is said during Akbar's rule, India's GDP was around 25-30% of the world, comparable to the Golden Period of India during the Gupta period.
There are three golden periods in terms of economy.. Maurya 1st, Gupta 2nd Akbar 3rd. Fact is fact... Dimaag fira samajh ya kuch aur, mujhe kuch farak nahi padega. 😇
No India's GDP during Mughal rule was already in decline it went from 30+before Mughals to 20's n down n down then British came and just finished it off.
"Bachchan" isn't the surname. It is a soubriquet that was given to Sir Amitabh's father who was a prolific writer of his time. Amitabh Sir 's full name was Amitabh Rai and his father's name was Hariwansh Rai AKA "Bachchan".
I wish they would cast someone from north east India as Akbar, Becasue Mughals were actually people from turkey with Mongol roots. If you look at some of their paintings, they do look like Mongols a little bit.
But Akbar was Uzbek from father side & Iranian from mother side. So he won't look like a typical Mongol. Star power does matter for big budget period movies or else there won't be enough box office revenue for the movie.
