The lyrics of the song are the same as the "Regiment Anthem" composed by Rufat Bey (1820-1888), sung in the Ottoman army, but the melodic composition is very different. The regimental anthem was composed during the war in Yemen (1871-1872) and published in 1919. Composer Javanshir Guliyev said that the words of the march were given to him by a soldier. The soldier, who introduced the anthem to Javanshir, said he heard it from his grandfather.
