Season 2 of Good Omens absolutely killed me so I made a video edit of Aziraphale and Crowley to Arcade and now I am in even more pain and I need a season 3 so that I don't die. Music Used: Arcade - Duncan Laurence
The fact that Crowley waits and watches Aziraphale go, as if a part of him hopes he'll change his mind, just breaks me. I love the angst, and I love the amazing performances from both Michael and David, but this hurts. I think it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't know that, assuming the show comes back, season 3 is probably 3 to 5 years away, lol. Makes me want to kick my 13-year-old self for complaining about having to wait a whole summer for the next season of my favorite TV show.
The saddest part is the actors established Aziraphale loved Crowley first, obviously from the very beginning, always assuming they’d just be best friends and playing the role well, but at the end, when it’s CROWLEY finally, finally gives him the love he’s always wanted, KISSES HIM, out of seemingly nowhere after going all their lives without something even close to romance, Aziraphale pushes him away for the people Crowley has always protected him from. “You came through for me… you always do” -Aziraphale PLUS the fact that Crowley let on that being on your own side is lonely, and now he’s really on his own side again with no one. AND he’s basically going to be going up alone against heaven with the second coming(plus probably hell, they usually agree on human destruction), AND of course Aziraphale, who will be RUNNING the entire project! I expect 3 apology dances and an entire season of regret from Aziraphale I feel so bad for Crowley, but now it’s his turn to basically look Aziraphale in the eyes when he’s either asking for forgiveness or something akin, to say “no, and don’t come back”. I know it’s cruel, but I’m a little excited to see Crowley do something for himself just once. Crowley wasn’t prepared for the only person he’s ever trusted to abandon him. How long does Aziraphale think he has to wait before he can go back and say “my mistake, want me to dance for your infinite forgiveness?”
I felt like my heart was twisting in my chest watching this. As though it was going "no, nah, this is it - you keep making me watch these sad edits and this takes the cake - I am leaving. Which way is the exit??" It's beautiful, excellent, wonderfully made! And I am totally with you. I'm tapping my foot waiting for season 3. When it was announced I wasn't mollified, I just internally went "WELL CHOP CHOP, GET TO IT! D8< Neil's got it all written, call the props people, sign the contracts - let's get this show on the road!" It makes me anxious, too, having watched so many edits, that they'll look too different once filming starts. They've both aged like fine wine, that is not the issue - it's that the characters are immortal and unaging and hopefully we get more looks into the past. In the present I can headcanon all sorts: Becoming more human, causing actual aging; The stress of an apocalypse; Being "fired" from their jobs. But I wouldn't want to be the person to tell either of them "we're just gonna put some de-aging filters on the flashbacks", because that _sounds_ like they look shrivelled and unattractive rather than just different. I'd feel horrible.
i love the song choice but itd be good to let the song breathe every now and then, but maybe im just a crappy nostalgic for old style tributes that didnt have talking in it xD
