@@sidneysometimes2520 not to get into semantics but, What Zuko interrupted was the coronation ceremony. The act of succession had already happened when Ozai took the Phoenix King title. What Zuko and Katara did was a violent coup against the legitimate Firelord akin to the 2019 Bolivian coup against Morales and the failed Jan 6 insurrection. Yes, Ozai and Azula were the villains of the story and had to go down, but they were also the rightful rulers according to Fire Nation laws and traditions. So lets not get things twisted. Zuko had been put aside in the line of succession, just as my favorite character Uncle Iroh "The Dragon of the West" had been. So there was precedent of this action in the not to distant past, It was all legal and proper. Zuko did not become Firelord. He and Katara deposed the Firelord (Azula) and took claim of the title. The fact that this was glossed over and that the rest of the Government/people fell in line is one of the parts of the end of book 3 that left a bad taste in my mouth. There should have been months or years of revolutions and civil wars in the aftermath of Ozai's and Azula's fall. They were evil but they were loved and respected by the people of their nation who had seen economic, cultural and geographical growth over the last 100 years. Zuko was a dishonored and banished prince in a society where honor and order is highly valued. Yet I still recognize that Azula made a unforced error by declaring Agni Kai giving him a bit of legitimacy, but as the priest said moments prior she was being coronated by order of the Phoenix King so it was not her place to wager it. Sorry I have a lot of feels on this topic.
