If I confused you during the main gun section, the prototype version of the Twin 203mm SKC is better than its normal gold counterpart. I said that the normal gold counterpart version is best overall when comparing it to the other AP options, but obviously the prototype version is a direct upgrade. (this is why I don't cover prototypes, they get so confusing) So for easy reference: Prototype 203mm SKC > Regular Gold 203mm SKC > the other AP guns for heavy cruisers
@@polojn Large cruisers are not the same as heavy cruisers, the only one in the game being Azuma. For her, she has her own special HE prototype gun. For Heavy Cruisers, AP is preferred.
The guides you make are pretty good seeing that when I ask people for help they seem to speak a language that of gods while you actually explain things.
Good job. Just an additional note: the pronunciation for the PR ship Saint Louis is San Louie (SanRui in JP) to differentiate her from USS St. Louis aka St. Lewdis, Helena's sister.
i just want to mention that not all heavy cruiser have low auxiliary gun efficiency, London Retrofit have a pretty high auxiliary gun efficiency, about 160/165% i think
I'll add that the faster reload on the proto triple AP (Roon turret) is a better difference from the twin gold AP (Eugen turret) than it looks like on paper. They both fire 6 shots per main gun base, but the Eugen turret fires three series of two shells each, whilst the Roon turret fires two series of three shells each. There is a slight delay (~ 0.3-0.5 seconds) between each of those series, meaning that the Roon turret doesn't just have ~0.4s faster reload as stated in the stat card, in practice it's more like 0.7-0.9s faster. It's still a fairly small upgrade, but slightly bigger than the paper stats make it seem. If it wasn't for that additional difference, the Eugen turret would actually have higher DPS, because it has 5% higher efficiency.
The 127mm MK12 in real life is really effective against air attacks from the Japanese air raids. Also, the North Carolina has that gun as a dual purpose gun (Can be used as AA) and also from many other cruisers and destroyers during ww2. The 100mm gun what I call "Akizuki gun" I believe is much faster than the 127mm MK12. The 127mm is by far the best option because it can be used as a secondary gun and AA and it is very effective against air attack damage wise.
Ander : next up on equipment guide is light cruiser featuring everyone's favorite me: oh nice Belfast or Neptune or Helena or maybe Seattle also Ander: Number one and also me: oh I see you are also a part of her cult ha LOL
There is actually quite a difference between the prototype triple 203mm and the twin 203mm. while the reload is similar the main difference is their firing pattern which for the proto is 3 shells 2 times vs the twins 2 shells 3 times making the proto actually fire much faster as reload begins once the gun has finished firing.
It's a great time to get that sweet sweet rainbow torp with the current x3 core data event going on right now! I totally agree that they should put those event items in the core data shop. #azurlaneplsaddthisfeature
Yep, you can. As long as your ships aren't dying, then feel free to add more damage. If you find that your ships are having trouble surviving, then swap out a rainbow torp for a repair toolkit or something similar.
your guides are great man, but you need to asume people dont have the "event gun". Some started late, some started early. like half of your setups are "use the event gun/torp/aux weapon"
Yep, the core data HE gun is the 2nd best for a heavy cruiser, a little worse than the prototype 203mm but better than the purple 203mm. I didn't mention it since there's many other better options to spend core data on, and I didn't want to encourage dropping 500 core just for a gun viable on two CA's.
Getting back to heavy torpedo cruisers we have (I think 2 at least?) "Gun torpedo cruisers" and both I know are priority ships. Namely Roon and Saint Louis, which sacrifice preload and 2nd torpedo mount for additional main gun mount.
You must equip your heavy cruisers with the most attractive and lewd skins available. It raises their happiness level and leads to better battle performance. Honest. Yes I do use Prinz Eugen and the Atago sisters a lot, why did you ask?
Timestamps and another reliable equipment website with additonal information (Credits to Shangri-la for finding it) in the description! I forgot to mention that on the torpedo-focused heavy cruisers on the exceptions list, they can put a Rainbow Type 93 Pure Oxygen Torpedo in their auxiliary slot since that will drastically improve their torpedo stat, thereby improving their DPS as well. Edit: btw i called Saint Louis PR a prototype a bunch of times. the correct term is PRIORITY. sorry. EditEdit: The "French" gun is not French, it's actually from the Italian event, thanks to Grimmwoldds to pointing that out EditEditEdit: Forgot about Maya, she's in the same boat for her double torpedo skill as Takao, thanks to Ben Flott for pointing that out
Definitely go with a DD gun. She's one of the few that have a very good aux gun efficiency so having a DD gun will provide a massive amount of extra DPS.
Yeah, any of the research guns are fine. I was testing out if the Proto HE gun worked better, and it had the exact same performance as the Proto AP gun. Use whatever one you have.
Ummmm, you know you can make it easier for you by sorting CA on docks first right? So that you don't have to struggle to find the ships, i mean. An advice for future videos
The core shop HE gun is 2nd best for HE main gun Heavy Cruisers. It's worse than the priority research HE gun, but is better than the purple HE gun. I wouldn't recommend buying it since you can spend 800 core for a lot of other better things such as the White/Black shells or the F4U Corsair Pirate Squadron. It's only needed for PR St. Louis or Atago, and in St. Louis' case, you'll probably get the prototype research gun before you finish researching her, so then you'd just end up using that one instead.
Regarding Ibuki, why exactly are you using the Prinz Eugen gun instead of the prototype triple 203mm AA gun? it takes 50% longer to reload and Ibuki has an all out assault that procs every 6 main gun shots fired
Back when I was making this series of videos, I stated that I would not try to include the prototype guns as they were difficult to obtain for many players at that time. If you have the PR Triple 203mm, it's better than the Eugen gun and you should definitely use it.
When you say that during the farm for saint louis I should have that prototype HE gun, do you mean her initial steps to get her or the blueprint farm for MLB'ing her? If it is the former I am nowhere near getting that gun.
Okay, here's a quick list between the two: Heavy Cruisers: - Shoot with a slower, more damaging main gun - Are slower moving than Light Cruisers - Have more health and less evasion - Medium armor - Cost a bit more oil Light Cruisers: - Shoot with a more consistent, faster firing, but less damaging main gun - Move faster than Heavy Cruisers - Have less health but more evasion - Light armor - Cost a bit less oil
It's a worse version of the prototype HE gun, so I personally don't think it's worth buying for 800 core. Since there are very few HE heavy cruisers, you'll probably have the prototype HE gun (which is the best) by the time you want to use them. If you can't wait until you get the Triple 203mm (Mle 1934 Prototype), then I guess you could buy it from core data, but there are many other things that are much more worth buying. (Ex: White/Black shell)
Question: Where can I farm the purple 138mm DD French gun? I know that the gold one is only available through the French event but I haven't had a chance to get the purple version, not even a single copy.
T0 is a prototype weapon T1 is the lowest rarity the weapon comes in T2 is the middle rarity the weapon comes in T3 is the highest rarity the weapon come in So if you have a purple weapon that is marked T3 it means that a gold version of that weapon doesn't exist.
Dang Azur Lane is just not on your side, first with missing the Javelin Idol skin and now with bad gold box luck. At least things can only get better from here!
@@ItsAnderYT dont worry. after sending this comment, i bought the 2 boxes form the merit shop and had 2 remaining from my last lot and pulled 3 in a row. a baracuda, seafang, and the pompom AA gun. but yeah still kicking myself for missing the skin UmU
According to the Azur Lane Wiki, she's labeled as a "Large Cruiser". ?!?!??! idk what that means, someone please enlighten me I'd definitely cover her in this video under the exceptions portion. She needs her 310mm prototype gun for maximum DPS, the rest of her equipment can probably follow this list with a special mention of the VH armor plating auxiliary that can be used on her to boost her tankiness even further.
@@ItsAnderYT Azuma isn't a heavy cruiser, she's a Super cruiser, a separate category and she's the only one in it. Think of it like a a battleship but for vanguard oh and broken AF of course. Main gun dealing Aoe dmg and 7k hp is FAIR isn't that right?
@@ItsAnderYT ru-vid.com/show-UC8LCuUgwFlhwW2slbRKnYew this channel i found has JP AL shenanigans (dev 30 fdg, azuma, and rainbow gun pvp) you should see it for future reference :)
Do u only keep the ships u want with some 0lb ships to grind? U only have 160+ ships. Do u not care about the tech points, or do the ships still count towards the thing after deleting them?
The tech points are saved after certain "checkpoints" are reached. For any ship, I'd usually get them up to at least Max LB, finishing the second checkpoint, and then I'd ask myself whether or not I want to keep them. Fleet tech isn't too big of a buff unless you're insanely dedicated to lvl 120'ing every ship (which will take forever), so I usually end up retiring the ships I won't use once I max LB them. Of course this isn't really recommended especially in a waifu collector game where some ships are event locked, but I want to save my gems for a nice L2D skin instead of expanding my dock. The only two options then would be to either: 1. pay some $$, get some gems to expand (which i don't really have at this time so that's a no-go) 2. retire some ships I don't use/don't plan to use in order to open up dock space
@@ItsAnderYT Ic Ic I also deleted Ships I didn't use Bcuz I didn't wanna spend Gems on Dock Space. I did this b4 Fleet Tech came in. I stopped AL from burn out and only came back last month. Didn't really understand how it worked. I'm not a collector person, so I'll probably end up doing the same thing you're doing. Thx 4 reply
@@COFFEEGONECOLD no probs! After playing a ton of other gacha games, I've realized that AL is definitely most likely to burn someone out since you can be grinding for a whole day without anything stopping you because oil is usually plentiful. Most gacha games have a stamina system that forces people to stop unless they use premium currency to get more, but AL gives out so much stamina (oil) with every maintenance as well as the oil factory, so the grind never stops!
If you are not a collector and only keep practical ones you can, but if you are and a F2P or pay for skin only you better not. I don't keep a single 0LB ship since I think they are not that worth it in EN than it is in CN/KR, most event maps I want to farm are too hard for level 70 ships and solo Phoenix/Neptune can do the same as what 2-3 LB0 ships can.
That can definitely be a good short video idea! Honestly, there's just a few ways to grind for coins. Make sure you: - Do your daily missions EVERY day (this is where you get the most gold the fastest) - If you have extra oil lying around, consider doing the 1200 oil commission to get 3000+ gold - If you're in the mood for grinding instead, definitely farm stage 7-2 for the four nodes that can drop gold and most obviously, - Upgrade your "Merchant" in the academy to the maximum level you can get it at, it produces free gold automatically even when you're sleeping
Baltimore actually has a skill that forces the gun to fire AP. Since most HE guns actually reload faster (i think) thank AP guns i think its pretty reasonable to use a HE gun on balti instead? Someone please input as well because i dont have balti myself
My boss fleet for 12-4 was: (Backline) - Warspite Retro, Essex, Formidable (Vanguard) - Portland Retro, Laffey Retro, Sandy Retro The trick to beating the boss on 12-4 is to bring some sort of slow to stop Maya from Figure-Eight-ing around Choukai at 600 miles per hour. This can be most easily obtained by using the 800 core data Swordfish (818 Squad) on a carrier. Also make sure to save your Battleship salvos for until Maya reaches the middle of the screen where she is next to Choukai. This will allow you to damage both of them at the same time.
Oh the cute bear? It's called Ankimo and it was an event item that could be obtained during the Hololive collab. It plays different music during a sortie and it has the same stats as the Advanced Boiler so I thought it'd be nice to put on her.
The core data HE gun is still good and is the 2nd best for an HE Heavy Cruiser, but I personally did not include because I do not think it is a good buy for 800 core. If you use the purple HE gun then you won't be missing out on too much, and if you have the prototype HE gun, it will automatically replace the core data gun. There are only a couple CA's that benefit from using an HE main gun, so most of the time it is not worth buying this for 800 core.
@@ItsAnderYT true as in early game it is more worth it to save core data for rainbow torpedo, white and black shells instead as they don't have replacements
@@ItsAnderYT then there is unlucky sobs like me that still dont have Seattle gun and needed a decent HE gun fast and have some spare core data so chaching
If you are talking about the purple, yeah, it's pretty bad. Generally speaking for DD guns, you would want HE ammo, and this is one of the few that are AP ammo instead. AP shell modifiers for this gun are pretty bad. It has very low DPS for a DD gun. You're better off using basically any other same-rarity gun.
I want to try and upload videos in the same order as my tier list guides in order to make the guides more streamlined. So this would mean that my upload schedule will probably be: Light Cruisers -> Destroyers -> Submarines The submarine equipment guide will definitely come soon, stay tuned!
@@ItsAnderYT OMG! Senpai Ander noticed me! I'll do the same too and save up gold crates. I recently subscribed to your channel and I've watched a bunch of your videos and I gotta say that I find your guides and tips far more informative and easy to understand especially with you narrating it. Keep up the good work!
If I were to pick a CA, I'd definitely go with any of the T0 or T1 event cruisers like Baltimore, Bremerton, the PR ships, or if you don't have any of them, Portland Retrofit. They may not seem appealing in the early-to-mid game due to their not-so-smooth damage curve as they shoot every couple of seconds, but once Chapter 13 hits, you'll be thankful to have at least a couple of them due to their great survivability and damage output. The only SAP gun was during the French event, which I didn't even get.
@@ItsAnderYT Italian event(Empyreal Tragicomedy). Also, London retro(VERY good at farming B series war archive events due to her secondary basically being a gunboat DD), Minneapolis for soloing.
@@Grimmwoldds shoot my bad. people keep calling the gun the baguette gun and when i think of baguettes I think of French people lol. Super solid recommendations too, they're also worth focusing on as well.
omg, i clearly don't play this game enough, i only have 1 version of that gold St. Louis gun, and somehow you have three of them. i have started playing this game since the opening of NA server, but i was on and off.
