As best as I tried, I did make a mistake in this video. 8:39 I mentioned 3 UR CA guns because I mistakenly recalled the Triple 305mm (12"/50 Mk 8) as being a CA gun, when in actuality it's a CB gun. While a CB can choose between the 2 guns, a CA can only select the later. I apologize for the mistake, it doesn't really change any of the analysis in this review though.

And the fact the 3rd skill is basically the same as special commander Kuznetsov's minus the heal is cool. I love the way they design the kits based off how the ship works in WoWs. Really wish Wargaming cared as much about their collabs (or game in general lmao) as Yostar does.
Napoli probably has this weird gun setup because shes known as one of the best "secondary cruisers" in World of Warships. Her small caliber SAP guns shred other ships around her very quickly, so it makes sense that they tried to display this playstyle in AL as well. Her CL gun efficiency is really low though so not sure how effective it will be.
in the end she amounts as a sidegrade to anchorage rather than an up or downgrade, which is fine in my books. we don't need perma powercreep every update
thing is, Anchorage is a gold ship, while Napoli is a rainbow...they shouldn't compete. Napoli's Competition should be Drake and Hindenburg. hell, She should be better then Hindenburg so Fate sim. pull Hindenburg back up again when we get it.
As a retired lvl 136 account azur lane player i didn't expect my favorite ship in world of warship release here. For those who dont know what that ship gimmick in wows here a small explanation from my exprience using them: Napoli : Tier X Italy tanky heavy cruiser that make many battleship player swearing in the game because she just too tanky and who try to come closer to her....well she have deadly semi armor piercing(sap) secondary that make majority dd player afraid to come closer and even bb player think twice before come close to her,she have special italy smoke(exhause smoke generator) that will smoke the ship fully even when she move full speed and have torpedo. Her main battery gun is not her primary firepower because her main battery are mediocre but her secondary is her true firepower. Admiral nakhiimov : most broken Tier X russian cv and number 1 broken cv in the game that can bully anyone with devastating damage from heavy rocket,tight torpedo spread that hit harder to broadside ship,and skip bomber. Halford : broken Tier IX USS hybird DD in the game can bully anyone and give hell to bb with flood and fire combined, equipped with plane that have tiny tim rocket also can be use to attack,spotting, and bullying stealth enemy destroyer. Halford launch 1 seaplane from her catapul and the other 3 will join the fray from nowhere. Daisen : IJN Tier IX battleship that many people already fogotten and love to shoot, daisen is mediocre for battleship because Too big that make people focus fire on her when sighted....you know the rules.....big target are easy to hit, bad armor mean bad survivability, she also long and very loooong battleship but also have torpedo. Bayard : tier VIII french light cruiser that many people in world of warships call mini colbert, consistent dps consistent damage and reliable firepower.
also fdr is broken and richtofen i got it and its actually nice, fast planes and hitting cvs and cls with ap rockets, im generally bad with cruisers but i really like playing colombo
@@randomguy2210 if only admiral nakhiimov still not released then you are right,the fdr are broken because high hp plane,high alpha damage,can permanent spot dd with bad aa(Tier X japanese DD shimakaze for example) torpedo have tight line hard to dodge but fdr now is nerfed version,you can look in old wows wiki what have changed. It also same with richthofen nerf ap bomb alpha damage, nerf ap bomb accuracy, nerf ap rocket alpha damage. Seriously i still remember old richthofen and its feel like you are the hunter and all ship are the prey,but richthofen now feels like you gambling in pachinko machine sometimes richocet sometimes overpenetrated sometimes shatter sometimes penetrated sometimes torpedo belt hit sometimes miss despite you make sure the accuracy line are in the right spot and if you hit jackpot you hit citadel. Also if you like c.colombo italy tier X bb then try sicily and if you have steel make it worthy with italy bb steel R laura.
My thoughts on the designs of the PR7 ships. Halford: If Formidable was a tween and very much a brat. Daisen: That one character in an anime that is the comedic relief. Admiral Nakhimov: If Hikage from Senran Kagura was a cat girl and was wearing a semi transparent plugsuit from Evangelion. Bayard: If Mordred from Fate was French and wore blue instead of red. Napoli: An older sister/mom type but with some Italian flare to get her into nearing milf territory.
"Bayard: If Artoria from Fate was French and wore blue instead of red" Artoria does wear blue - Nero is the one who wears red. Also, that description fits the Type Moon version of Jeanne D'Arc, as she's a French Artoriaface who wears blue.
rewatching this on my tv compared to my phones, i can now appreciate how stacked Admiral Nakhimov is. the background image makes her chest look top tier. also, great video btw
I think for the Russian fleet the timing should go Soyuz, then Nakhimov, then Chkalov so that Chkalov can get both damage boosts from Soyuz and Nakhimov.
Glad I'm not the only one who saw Bayards acc debuff and thought of PvP. I'm a bit more optimistic about her being useful, though. Juneu being back as the third vanguard is kinda a sign that things are in flux and there's an opening; Junny often dies way too fast and ends up healing near-full-HP ships; her current use feels more like "Fortune Meta is falling out of favor and there isn't a better replacement". She's also got a more relevant torpedo stat... though not having a preload kinda sucks (though having a black torp tea torp launch later in the battle might be a consolation prize) A French vanguard buffs Alsace, as a side benefit (makes her debuff stick).
Halford looks interesting as support for BBs fleets, sometimes you don’t need the vanguard to do damage and rely on the backline to do it, I think Plymouth - Halford and maybe Agir, Kashino, Bristol or Helena are good as vanguard supports. I might focus on her after Admiral Nakhimov.
I got Nakhimov first, her skills are ridiculous tbh. Very disappointed with Napoli tbh, for a DR she doesn’t really do enough over Ägir or Hindenburg to justify the effort into raising her stats etc. I was really hoping Daisen would be good as I love her design with that more traditional ship girl look, instead of the dumb sci-fi mech stuff we have now which I dislike. A shame her bespoke gun is garbage, no idea what they thought they were doing there. After Daisen I’ll go for the French CL because anything to shake up the pvp meta is a good thing.

Went for Napoli first just as an excuse to actually use Italian vanguard for once (also doing Emile Pessagno secretary quest so that works out) but holy crap am I excited to get Admiral Nakhimov (an excuse to level up Poltava and finish Gangut).
Another thing about Nahkimov is that her accuracy stat is the highest of all the rainbow carriers. So that on top of her self HIT buff gives her the most consistent effect on target out of all the rainbows.
Lets give a shout out to the Eagle Union for having the first real PR ship. USS Halford was built with the seaplane launcher and operated had if for a year before it got replaced.
About what I expected. With all the URs in the game now, SR's pretty much take an automatic backseat unless they have a meta changing gimmick, esp for those like me that only care about a ships performance.
Overall for me it's okay season with obvious favorite being Daisen. Gear-wise it will be usual grind, though lack of usual new AA gun is disappointing (hope for either heavy AA from Bayard or medium from Napoli). Daisen gun will be staple for most Sakura BB's despite lower reload for twin gun (likely because gun was meant to be equipped by Kongou successor in early interwar period). Biggest issue I have for this season is Napoli's gun rarity. An CA gun that has bigger caliber than Drake gun should be in same rarity category. Would've been better for Napoli to be in PR6 instead of Hindenburg, or italian DR cruiser being Venezia.
Im fine with no new AA gun. There really is no substitute for the UR AA gun in the gear lab. Its miles above anything else and not that hard to get multiple copies of.
Halford is interesting, but unfortunately she does have some things holding her back. Her statline isn't very impressive, her airstrikes come out pretty slow and due to her nature as an airstrike-launching DD she gets little to no help from Meowfficers and fleet technology in that department. It would be interesting if she could equip a catapult but I don't think she can. Some interesting auxes that can be used to boost her damage a bit with the help of her 30% extra stats from auxes are the Watatsumi Research Notes (buffs both FP and AVI and gives 5% extra damage in META battles), and Sea of Stars Pass (a bigger AVI boost), but you'll be sacrificing her survivability for that.
Surprised that they made halford a pr ship. Like its not like she wasnt laid down and built she had her catapault later removed is all. But still nice to see her in any case
Awesome review of everything in PR 7. I really appreciate your breakdowns. They are invaluable for prioritising the order of which ship girls to grind for. Thank fully the ship girl I was going to grind for no matter what happens to be one of the best. I'm an absolute cat girl fan so it's Admiral Nakhimov all the way for me. ❤
I am kinda hyped for the Daisen Gun. Finally a fast firing AP Gun for Musashi.The Blue and the Purple are faster but they are HE. Now we have an Ap Variant for Musashi
I wouldn't call the Daisen gun as fast firing. It has 22.6 seconds reload at +10 which is around 1.5 seconds faster than the Izumo gun and does around 35% less damage. It has 20 more coefficient against heavy armor than Izumo gun though.
I would’ve rather seen an HE gun, since the Izumo gun already exists, and no good IJN HE gun exists rn for Musashi, the best being the Kai version of the purple 410mm
the new Parliament carrier is awesome, but ships usually outside of main 4 are kind of mediocre, i don't run those ships just because main 4 just have better ships. I'll for sure use that new DR carrier but ill never take advantage of that skill two ever, her having slow is great though
You don’t think Admiral’s strong enough to flip pvp meta to favor carrier? Her survivability buff from going beneath 40% and getting her hidden back could be good. And the freeze too.
No sadly she won't survive until launch often. There's fast for PvE where she's compared to other UR CVs and then there's fast for PvP which she is nowhere near.
PVP now is all about who's vanguard can last longer. Sadly she won't contribute to that. Hidden is largely irrelevant for current meta. If you can win the vanguard battle, you will stay hidden anyways, if you lose the vanguard battle, 1million hidden gauge won't save you.
Admiral Nakhimov without another NP ship seems on par with Implacable (doing more damage herself but less buffs to the team) but with another NP ship she'll likely rivel hakuryu in damage, the issue is finding space in your fleet for another NP ship with a slow in the current Haku + Shinano meta fleet.
What do you mean? Pancake/Tigercat/Sea Hornets don't hit their bombs 100% of the time. Accounting for their hit rates, the La-9 has the best anti medium and anti heavy dps in a fighter slot currently.
Ya you have to account for the accuracy of the rockets versus bombs as well the proportion of damage that doesn't apply if it's not a dead on hit with the bomb. Hence eDMG is likely higher for the La-9 however that is hard to exactly quantify outside a bunch of runs which no one will have for a few months.
DPS within the context of planes isn’t a super reliable metric because of the nature of airstrikes. While yes, the 2x 1000 lb fighters have more DPS on paper, the increased accuracy on rockets and timing adjustments you can more easily do, the La-9 still probably beats the even bomber fighter aircrafts
Nah, La-9 has much better damage. The Focke-Wulf A-6 already had slightly better average damage than Tigercat/Flapjack/Sea Hornet because bombs only scale off of 80% of the aviation stat instead of 100% and because bombs are not physically very accurate due to the area in which they can be aimed at, so they only have around a 50% physical hit rate give or take. The devil really is in the details which the game doesn't tell you. And the La-9 deals 50% more damage than FW A-6.
Meta, have you in schedule a 2024 pvp video for fleet ? I still play mafia fleet with Aquila,Vittorio e NJ, Duca,Anchorage and Juneau, wicht is pretty solid but I wish i could update it, for exmple with Napoli instead of Anch or something else...
I personally could careless how a ship looks so long as it performs as performance is all I care about. With that said, I agree. Aside from Nakhimov, the rest are a pass for me. Honestly thats half the problem with this game atm. Too many URs. New SR's pretty much automatically take a back seat. Unless they have some meta changing gimmick. New event just dropped today and I didnt waste a single cube. Im sure theyre inferior to all the URs we already have.
