VERY WELL DONE Elliot! You really have a voice for narration. 2 things. 1: Alaia was a rare master of two mediums: tailoring and knits. He really elevated knitwear design to a couture level. He made knit evening dresses when no one else was. Check out his butterfly collection. 2. Not only did he do an amazing job dressing Grace Jones in A View To A Killl, but He also dressed Tina Turner in her Mad Max movie, in which her entire wardrobe was made of chain mail. That was a fashion moment!
Hello Elliitt, that was a very good introduction to people who may not know of Mr. Alaia, and his work. I became aware of his work when I was 16, in 1985,when I found two pictures of his denim dress,and jackets with zipper detailing. I started collecting magazine tears of his work from any magazine I could find. I have actually amassed over 300 magazine pages of his work. I was a fashion student at F.I.T in N.Y.C, when working in a store in Soho when I met Azzedine. He was sooo nice, and I spoke to him in the little French that I knew he gave me a hug and signed an autograph of which I still have. He's was so kind. And the next week I met Jean Paul Gaultier. You might want to check out a new book about him Alaia Afore Alaia it's quite good. Hi, Elliot :) You did very well with the video, on a designer I don't believe is spoken quite a lot about. I was always curious about the brand Alaïa, and its house codes and heritage; I hadn't seen much on the matter. You were the first individual I've seen thus far to cover the designer, and you did it throughly and with such love. My only critique is to possibly lower your background music while you're speaking. It can be difficult sometimes understanding the valuable information you provide while it clashes with the melody (don't worry, I made sure to go back and listen!) I know your channel is new, so I hope you take my advice and expand to new heights :) best wishes!
