I love the idea that Azzi is coming to UConn but the fact that all of these kids feel like they have to parade themselves in front of the media the way they do is a bunch of crap. Who was it that signed her commitment letter on the hood of her dad's truck? Breanna Stewart? And then she went out and led UConn to four national championships? Let your play do your talking, kids. I'm not impressed until.
I think the other coaches weren't really too upset, because if they are recruiting against UConn they already know it's a tall order. That's like telling a Coach you decided to play football at Alabama. Now we know that Baylor, Stanford, South Carolina, Notre Dame and a few others are going to get there fair share of these big timers. But usually the Tarausis, Moores, Buechers, Brianna Stewarts are going to UConn. One reason it was so big that not only didn't Aja Wilson go to UConn, she choose S. Carolina over the other blue bloods.
Here's the thing about UCONN and recruitment, they don't fight, if they get the feeling that a player won't commit they don't get involved. Always been that way. Also, they all recruit certain types of players. There are interviews where the coaches explain some of UCONN's recruiting philosophies. Also, look at the big players, and you will find common traits between them.
I'm a fanatic UCONN WBB fan but Dennis you haven't been paying attention to the women's college game. The level of play, the level of the games overall, especially the past 10+ yrs, has changed so much. There are so many incredibly talented players on so many teams. Did you happen to miss watching South Carolina, Oregon, ND, Stanford, Louisville, MissState, Baylor and more. And the coaches. I love Geno, Pat Dailey and the rest of UConn staff but Dawn Stanley is just amazing along with so many others. (Personally I'd like to see more Black women as head coaches of D1 teams. But that's another discussion 😉)
@@emmettebramble10 what u mean that is a know school for women’s basketball including Oregon Mississippi state Stanford Louisville and South Carolina those are the big schools know for girls basketball so if they usually don’t have then in there final ten it’s odd just like men’s duke Kentucky Michigan state Gonzaga North Carolina and many other teams
@@dennisbarth4109 I think you should read Barbara J. Maggiani and Rex's comments. They summed it up quite well. Or you could read your own comments as you mentioned several other quality schools a highly talented female basketball player can attend
