In Full Flower is one of those "otherworldly" pieces that Bartok seemed, to me, to specialise in. It is hauntingly beautiful but, at the same time, broodingly sinister. Village Dance uses its folk-dance influence in an almost austere, stylised and distanced manner. By the end of the first decade of the 20th Century, Bartok had certainly found his own very distinctive voice. Stunning performance here which perfectly captures the idiosyncratic quality of the composer's music.
