This is my solo guitar arrangement of one of Latin America's most famous love songs Besame Mucho. I was introduced to this song by a very good friend of mine called Mike Medora who is a fantastic musician and used to live in Brazil. He learnt to play superb Latin guitar while he was there. I was inspired soon after hearing it to arrange it for the solo guitar. Initially I was inspired by this version by Tino Rossi:
• Tino Rossi - Besame mucho
Subsequently I was massive inspired by this version by Lisa Ono due to lovely latin rhythms and harmonies of her cover of Mexican Songwriter Consuelo Velazquez's classic:
• Consuelo Velazquez - B...
The score for this arrangement will be available on my website soon but if you want it any quicker please email me on peteblackguitar@gmail.com
This video was recorded recently at Rokit Studios in West London. The recording and video engineering was done by Mark Rose. The guitar I used in the video was made by a local guitar maker who is a personal friend of mine named John Beacock. He only made a limited number of guitars in his lifetime so his guitars are extremely rare, however he had a natural touch and his guitars have incredible clarity and sustain, and sing like a bird. The guitar was made in 2001 and has been recently restored as it sustained a lot of damage over many years of use in studies and for work from 2001 - 2012. The restoration was done superbly by Mike Walker who has now become a friend and my guitar tech.
