5 years since I've heard this edit. I just finished watching Serial Experiments Lain, and man does this song hit harder. A phenomenal track and even more brilliant show, intertwined. Just like Lain said, it's all connected. She deserves all of the love after going through so much.
Those are some of the best instrumentals out of a synth I have heard in a VERY long time. my eyes just about bugged outa my head when that chorus faded out and the beats shot up. Excellent work and great mastering.
@@FreakinPuertaRican12 I’m super glad you liked it! And Lain is a girl from an anime called “Serial Experiment Lain”. It introduced a lot of people to Bôa! If your interested you should check it out! : )
@@FreakinPuertaRican12 Serial Experiments Lain is an anime lmao. The samples are from the OP and voicelines. Boa is the band, and Jasmine Rogers is their vocalist, who are also both sampled in this edit.
Going to VS live I know a lot of people dont really get the anime girl on the screen. But It makes me happy to know how many other people love lain out there
i want more music like the part that starts at 1:35, i can’t find anything similar to virtual self. people propose either bland trance music or regular electro
I know how you feel, as a super hardcore trance fan, Virtual Self captures this vibe a lot of trance doesnt nowadays, Here's my recommendations and I PROMISE YOU WILL LOVE THEM, I PROMISE MAN: Oceanlab - Satellite, a super effin euphoric song that will capture those big anthemic vibes you love from Virtual Self Libra ft. Taylor - Anomaly: Calling Your Name (Ferry Corsten Remix), it has a super soulful, melancholic feeling you may enjoy, its so different from what we imagine "trance" to feel like BT - Flaming June, this just has that super idunno, ddr-y vibe, its sooo good. Fire & Ice - Souvenir De Chine, just that urgent trance vibe. Lange Featuring the Morrighan - Follow Me (Lange Mix), just super freaking cheerful, gorgeous and happy. I promise, you may not like all of these, but you'll love some of them, I promise
the last thing ill say is with these songs and with a lot of trance especially old school trance, youve got to be patient, I mean porter robinson has said himself you wont find as much music to love if you aren't patient. Give them a chance from start to finish, they explode, I have a feeling Oceanlab - Satellite will be one you fall in love with immediately though.
Going to be honest, I feel like the high pitched fast paced electro at random intervials really ruins this and goes completely against the song in everyway.
1. It's a remix, doesn't matter about it's relevance to the original. 2. That ARP (or electro at random intervals as you called it) is incredible. The tone, balance, and the triplet feel over 4/4 works so well with the timing of the snare. Going to be honest, your snarky criticism makes no sense whatsoever. Everyway? Just exactly how does the ARP ruin each individual element of the song? I'm going to boldly guess that you are a musician due to your confidence in posting your comment, so assuming thats true, then you should really ditch being pointlessly critical about other people's work. That is the kind of attitude that musicians and other industry professionals despise, so it would benefit you greatly to work on that part of yourself (trust me). If you are not a musician, then you have absolutely no clue in hell what you're talking about musically, and you are the absolute worst kind of commenter. But by all means, tell me to fuck off and explain to me exactly how it ruins the song (make sure to dot your i's and cross your t's).
