Thank you so much for this channel, hearing from all the original test pilots talking about legendary aircraft is a dream come true for every aviation enthusiast ,engineer and pilot .All this was unthinkable before YT.Many thanks to all of these American Heros taking the time and effort for the benefit of all.

I ran across a B-2 a good 5 yrs before it was rolled out and shown to the public. Myself and a co-pilot were cutting across a cold moa "Poinsett" just S of Shaw AFB central SC. It was low,slightly higher than us. Atc said no contact and later said Shaw had no ac ops in the area. After landing I was ask if we wanted to report this "black,triangular wedge shaped craft that "wasn't there". AAHH, Nope, never mind....

18:14 shows the B-2 Ornithopter

At 16:40 this is fascinating to me - didn't a YB-49 pilot claim that the aircraft would roll backwards in a stall, and had told one of the other test pilots this? I believe the later died in a crash of the 49, but Jack Northrop claimed that the basic aerodynamic principals of the wing prevented such behavior in a stall. I'm assuming the exponentially-greater computer-driven understanding of the wing's performance and behavior under the ATB / B2 program may have proven Jack wrong, based on what's said in this video? Anyways more of a pointless note than anything else. Jack and Kelly are two geniuses that shaped our country's aviation fame and success, and continue to motivate younger generations of engineers around the world. Knowing that enough strings were pulled to allow Jack to view the B2 before he passed away is just incredible. He FINALLY saw his life's work and passion come to fruition in his final days is a perfect end to a well-storied and successful carrier of an engineering legend. Even decades later with all the computers out there, its' wingspan was the same as the YB-35 he designed in 1940! :)

why, then, is the B-52 the US primary bomber. why does the B-2 have to be hangered. why can't the B-2 fly in the same weather as the B-52. why is the B-52 being updated to current avionics. why?

I am about 12 minutes in and so far I get the impression these guys are trying to justify the untold billions spent on the B2 and sound like car salesmen. I get it. The B2 can destroy more Toyotas in the desert and hit mud huts with more accuracy than older jets can.
