AAHHH No Dak wind. 1975-1978. 5MMS...5HQSQ...5FMS. Can you tell I was a 702? Learned to snow ski and polka with the girls at Stockman's Bar and Club 52. First duty assignment and I'm from Texas! Learned to drive on ice came in handy at Sembach, GE and Elmendorf AK later on in my career. Made lots of friends at the New Town Indian Reservation. Love the assignment and remember it fondly.
@@steve_wilson My Uncle and Dad had a restaurant in Granby and for years the jets roared over head. Korea/Vietnam,and even get to see and hear the T-Birds practicing theses days. Check it out! My Son and I were at Edwards the day Yager broke the SB in that Hot Rod Phantom and watched the last departure of an SR-71 from Norton. Peace-Out!
@@BobF12345 Thanks. YT just suggested this last one, so I'm sorry for missing the first two. I know the feeling of "finally landing" in a BUFF after flying out to Red Flag from Griffis AFB and back in the early 80's one glorious time. But 10 hours in a bomber is very much long enough. The guys the flew out of Barksdale to the sandbox and back are made of very sturdy stuff. Awesome aircraft. It first flew just before I was born, and will be flying long after I'm dust.
@@steve_wilson No problem! It is weird how RU-vid recommends some videos and buries others. You are one fortunate man to have had the experience of flying in a B-52. Yes, the missions from Barksdale and back must have been grueling. It is my favorite aircraft bar none.
