Magnificent and profund, I am amazed by the work of late B.A. Zimmermann it is an incredible work.

It is indeed. It was, in some ways, the hardest piece that I ever had to learn and was very fortunate to play it quite a few times.

I stand in awe of this unique, psychedelic work. There’s really nothing else like it. Sensuous, exotic, heartbreaking, phosphorescent, fairytale-like, all at the same time. Zimmermann had a secret key to a magic door with this piece. What a protagonist in Mr. Shevlin!

@@FriedrichHeinrichKern It was great that we managed to have Glass harmonica there! It´s so much better for the cellist to have one instead of celesta and you played wonderfully.

@@FriedrichHeinrichKern yes the glass "complete" the sound that the cello is trying to make, the celesta would compete instead of melting. May be a theremine or ondes Martenot, I don't know ?

Magnificent piece. I hadn´t heard it for at least ten years. The only recording I knew was the first-ever made. I don't remember if Gielen was conducting.
