In 1981: I was still too young for the club scene, but by then, I had already been flipping the radio dial for a few of my formative years by then. I still remember the very first time this dropped on WBLS's Ken "Spider" Webb show, and have loved it since. I'm proud that I was born and raised in NYC during such a progressive time in music. Fast approaching 52 now, and I miss this level of musicianship as a relevant component to society in general.
I second that I first heard this record in a club called Pegasus in nyc, then later in Justines,Bentleys,Silver Shadow etc the 80's was the best in music so diverse
I remember the summer this song came out. i was in brooklyn visiting my mom for the summer that was 1981. this song was on heavy rotation on wbls. one of my favs. new york was just electric during that time!
@eric I was just thinking that this song reminds me of the vibe in the early 80s NYC. Even though I wasn’t there. Tom Brown Funking for Jamaica, Roy Ayers kinda sound.
@@OldskolFan this song was big hit in nyc in 1981. back then you hear this at block parties and on radio stations every 3 hours or so it was the best of times then.
Wow. This brings back some great memories. Spinning tunes on beautiful summer nights. Everyone dancing and enjoying life. Making people smile with a pair of speakers and a couple of turntables. God, how I miss that. Music is the best time machine.
This music is still kicking after all these years,i was in the army when most of these songs came out and i loved them then and still do today!!! Disco Rules!!!! 58 years young!!
My mom was born at 1969, and of course she adore that 80s era so much. She tellin me how great that era & even show me her pict while doing roller skate with my dad. At first I'm wondering if what my mom saying is true since I was a 90s kids and think maybe it's just for her. Now I'm at my 31 and feel bored with nowadays song so I asked her about 80s song, and this one is the song she hear a lot back day. Now she is the one who's responsible on why I'm so obsessed with 80s song, and I find it not a bad thing. I kinda envy you guys who experienced 80s era, I mean you lived in GREAT ERA !!! If only times can go back... ☺
i was 21 years old in Belfast northern irland on a tour 2 years loved the people on both sides made me see a lot of lost people along the way but respect given were due

Another great group from Change founder Jacques Fred Petrus featuring lead singer Ike Floyd and the PeeWee Ford musicians. This is the lead song, but I like all the songs on the album. Even 40 years later I still get fired up listening to this song and continue to play it today. Man those were great times in the clubs.
Absolutely classic! Unbelievably amazing! Everything about this song from the instrumentation, the rendition and the delivery is absolutely flawless. A floor filler any day anytime.
NYC Clubbing in the 1980s. Free. Single. Disengaged. Dancing all night into the mornings. Daylight catching me up again, for years and it was allllllllllll that!!
Have any one of you ever been to the Pulse nightclub in Manhattan NY City 61 street and Lexington Ave in the late 80s and 90s those were the days miss those days 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Would travel from Philly to NYC on Friday after work....then be back in Philly Sunday night for work Monday....This song right here....so many memories!
Can I thank the musicans in America for making such lovely funk soul music ...which I heard in England UK. ..in disco mainly .In the 80s. .. So joyful . Lots of love to every one who thinks the same.😘
It's a special gift to groves up in the 80ies and the radio, and the clubs play that kind of tunes please bring me back to the 80ies maybe I buy a delorian and drive back in time 😮
@@martin36959 I was born in 1961. The 70's had plenty of good things. I just found that I prefer the 80's. I was raised in south Louisiana, not the best of places. Its all perspective I guess.
What memories that swims through my head from all these songs playing in the background! Just to have ONE DAY, and go back to that time in life, and relive those wonderful care-free years, when they were good, and everything's fine...and you were still young enough not to know that these were (and would be) the best care-free & happy years!

This song takes me back to 1981. When I was 13, my block use to throw block parties. It was fun, everyone was having a good time, young and old. Food, fun, games, and skate. I remember hearing the D.J. blasting this song on the speakers. Man, I miss those days!
Somebody pinch me! We all danced to this music in the 70s. All my family in LA visiting family. Partied in all the clubs. To live. Mom, uncle Dave, my sister. Too much fun.
The great classics of that cool sweet Disco sound and the great memories of the styles in the fashions for both the guy's and dolls .. Those were some great times indeed. KEEP ON TRUCKIN.....😎
