There are only 2 single releases by B.B. & Q. Band from their 1981 album, and "Time For Love" was always in my mind destined for single release. So I thought I'd give it a go and stretch it just a little bit. Hope you enjoy it!
Based on what I read, this band was the creation of an ethnic black man, born in the "west indies" who got his start producing in Italy. He came to America and would bring random studio musicians together and cut tunes. Vice did a good story about him: Jacques "Fred" Petrus... in either case, it's NYC but it's also not.
Most definitely that's the best way I've heard it put in the music was so warm and feeling getting up in the morning was a pleasure I used to take my boombox on the bus with me and listen to this song on the way to school Brooklyn Bronx Queensand the group change will always be two of my favorite groups
Actually Luther was doing background duty on this gem, along with the classic ensemble of voices including Fonzi Thornton, Diva Gray, etc. And Mr Ike Floyd on lead vocals right here
I have to say, growing up in NYC, Harlem it was amazing what come out of my radio. As music transitioned, it was difficult to leave the 1977 Disco Sound created by Chic. The Bass was everything. I recall groups like High Fashion in ,1981 with Feeling Lucky and BBQ Band with "That Sound" amongst many other bands. 💕💕💕💕A Bad Azz Bass, Guitar stood out. I wouldnt mind experiencing the change again

This classic BB&Q Band joint just popped into my head a moment ago, I looked it up on RU-vid, and there was your comment amongst the rest ( as in innumerable other records that I love also seeing your comments ), and actually expressing similar thoughts that I have about that era in music as well, regarding that era's warmth in soulful R&B / Disco. Not to mention Sopranos videos too LoL. It's incredible
I bought this album in July, 1981 after hearing it playing on a local college radio station and when I listened to this song for the first time I thought "Hey this is just as good as On the Beat." So glad I was a young music lover in this late 70's and 80's and still play this song to this day. Also I recommend you listen to the group Change. They played in Italy and as the name indicates they kept bringing in young black artists who needed a break and amazingly found a way to harmonize together with a steady flow releasing fantastic hits. Luther Vandross sang background in both groups.

Indeed 1981 Luther vandross at put out the never too much still having a lot of that change sound but I remember when he was still doing background for this group and change miracles album you would transition himself into what we know today little macho productions always loved all of their productions
@Geraldo Barbosa Luther was never in the band Change he just was guest vocalist on the 2 songs Searchin' and Glow Of Love he was in those days backing vocals for tons of artists until he went on his own
@@kballenger53ify Yup he did he sang background vocals for Chic's first Album, Chaka Khan's Papillion( Aka Hot Butterfly) David Bowie of course Sister Sledge 's first album & so many others Luther had that distinctive voice he's definitely missed should still be here making great music

I never knew who sings this record back then when I was teenager..Luv this music back then...yeah music is trash these days but I never knew who sing this song.. as many songs back then...if it wasn't for technology..Music Song ID..I guess you gotta take the good with the bad..
King, after long time listening tracks like this ( boogie and groove time, after DISCO era ) you conquest a diferent feelings about good music, i´m 54 and I can say: between 78 untill 83 we had THE BEST era about music..... nowaday I love deep and garage house music, and in my opinion these stiles came from that time. Dave Lee ( Joey Negro ) is a good example, he is an excelent producer using DISCO reference to produce AMAZING tracks. Thank you to tell me about Fred & Mauro, I really didn´t know about it. As my good friends telling me here in Brazil: knowledge about music is the same that women, NEVER TO MUCH :-)
