Ada is painting with the color blue because she feels blue. She then decides to paint her feelings and paints a blue emotatude. She hugs Karen and does not feel blue any more. They then talk about how feelings aren't right or wrong. They just are. Sometimes expressing your feelings helps you cope with them they decide.
