This bee sting cake recipe combines a sweet honey crust with a creamy vanilla custard. Who can resist? In Germany this is a well known classic cake.
With this video I also continue my series »The little cakes ABC«. In this series I present in alphabetical order the most popular, best known and best cake recipes. Of course, I could have shown a butter cake at the letter B. But since my last bee sting cake video was a long time ago, it became the bee sting cake.
Another feature is that I will bake only small or half versions. I calculate the recipe quantity but usually so that you get by doubling the amount for a standard form.
BEE STING CAKE RECIPE:
Yeast dough:
-------------------
10 g fresh yeast
1/2 tbsp sugar
0.2 cup (40 g) butter (soft)
1 cup (130 g) cake flour
1 pinch of salt
3 tbsp (40 ml) lukewarm milk
3/4 egg
Almond topping (crust):
----------------------------------
1/2 cup (50 g) flaked almonds
1 tsp honey
1/4 cup (50 g)butter
2 1/2 tbsp (50 g) sugar
1 tbsp milk
Vanilla pudding:
----------------------
500 g vanilla pudding
1 cup (200 g) whipped cream
4 leaves of gelatin
Tips for preparation:
----------------------------
Instead of fresh yeast you can use 1 tsp (4 g) of instant yeast.
Baking:
------------
Baking pan
Baking frame sized 8 × 10 inch (20 × 24 cm)
356°F / 180°C
Top & Bottom Heat
about 30 minutes
